SortOf has joined Evil Geniuses' sister brand Alliance.Today we’re excited to announce that we’re adding Rickard “SortOf” Bergman to our Starcraft 2 division. SortOf has been a staple in the Starcraft 2 scene since early 2012. He finished second in both E-Sport SM 2011-2012 and WCS Sweden Nationals by the year’s midway point. Later in the year he would go on to take fourth in the North American Starleague’s fourth season as the highest placing foreigner.
As long time friend of our player Johan “Naniwa” Lucchesi, we’re elated that Rickard has decided to join us and help grow our team. We want to keep our squad small and close knit; Rickard fits the bill perfectly for the kind of player we are looking to have on Alliance. He and Johan will be traveling to Korea in the coming week to prepare for the next WCS Europe season and they will make their return in the off season to prepare for the season that follows.
Johan remarked on the new addition to the Alliance roster, “It is with great pleasure that I see SortOf joining Alliance. It already felt like a dream to me having an all Swedish team.” Nani would go on to, jokingly, comment, “Rickard is also a kings name just like Johan so I have no doubt he will do well.”
Rickard will make his debut under the Alliance banner during the IEM China Qualifiers on June 30th. We hope that our fans will wish him a warm welcome and cheer for him there and in the future.
