Tell us how you feel about advancing to the Premier League as first from your group.

I’m a little bitter about the fact that a tiebreaker ensued. I am really disappointed that I lost that final game against Avenge. Rather than feel happy about advancing to the Premier League, I am more down about losing that game.

Why was that loss against Avenge so big to you?

I swore to myself that I would never lose to Avenge again after I lost to him in the GSTL, but then I ended up losing to him again today so I received a lot of stress from that.

You started off with three straight victories but you still had to endure a tiebreaker.

I’ve experience the Up/Downs many times but this was my first time ever experiencing a tiebreaker. Since it was an entirely new feeling, I viewed the fact that I had to play against two Protoss players as if it was just a regular Bo3 vs only one Protoss player. I think I was able to make a good result because of that.

Your GSL results have not necessarily been the best.

I keep putting up the same kind of results. Even though I keep telling myself that the next season will be different, I keep getting eliminated in the Ro32 or the Ro16. And because that kind of scenario just kept repeating itself, I began to distrust myself more and more. But now that I’ve made it back to the Premier League I plan on believing in myself and working hard again. I just hope that something goes differently for this season.

Next season will commence in YongSan. Are you confident?

I’ve experienced playing at YongSan before because of WCG. I did really well even though I was nervous. That’s why I feel like I’ll be able to put up good results for next season even though it’s at YongSan.

How did you feel about WCS Korea Season 1?

During my last interview, I received some criticism because of what I said. I said that eSF players have a disadvantage because they don’t have regular practice regimes like KeSPA players do. My thoughts haven’t changed. It’s true that it gets difficult to maintain your feel for the game if you don’t get to play as many games.

This season’s goals?

As of late, things have been really going great in team leagues and my games have been going well during practice. It kind of feels like it did around 2 years ago when I was doing well. I haven’t really set an overall goal yet but I have anticipations for myself that I’ll do well for this season.

Anything else you would like to say?

I want to thank my teammates for helping me with practice even though we’re on break right now. Super has his Up/Down matches ahead of him so I hope he does well and that I’m not only one advancing to the Premier League. I want to thank our sponsor Lotte Chilsung. Lastly, I’m sure that my parents watched my games today, so I hope they don’t go to sleep and wait for me.

(P)LG-IM YongHwa

How do you feel about advancing to the Premier League?

It’s been 2 and a half years since my debut in SC2 so I am so glad that I finally get to step foot on a grand stage.

Has anything changed recently?

I don’t really know about skill but I think my mind and my mentality have changed. I was really prideful so I wasn’t really listening to people around me when they were giving me advice but nowadays I’ve learned how to heed other people’s advice. How much I practice has also significantly increased.

Any game that you specifically remember today?

I prepared so extensively for my first game against KeeN but I ended up losing too easily because I made too many mistakes. So I remember that game well.

People say that your performances have ups and downs. Why do you think this is so?

I think it’s because I get really nervous. If I practice to the point where I can adapt to the televised matches atmosphere, then I should be fine.

What is the secret behind your great GSTL performances?

I still get nervous even for GSTL games just like I do for individual games but I’ve been sent out a lot for the GSTL so I think I’ve gotten used to it now. I get more and more confident the more I win every time I get sent out.

What did you think after you saw your group?

I didn’t think anything was all that different from the other groups. I like playing PvT so I saw my group as doable since it had two Terran players.

The next season will take place at OGN.

I made some good memories at YongSan because of WCG so I think that I’ll be able to do well for next season. I will practice hard so that I can make good results.

Did anything change as the GSL changed into the WCS?

It’s good for maintaining the feel for the game because there are lots of games. I’m not sure if other players feel like they not get to play less games or what, but I will be participating in the Premier League and the GSTL so I’m going to have no problems maintaining my feel for the game. So I’m not really all that worried.

You must be disappointed that you couldn’t attend the WCS Season 1 Finals.

I haven’t been putting up good results for individual leagues until now and I’ve gotten into the Premier League so I’m sure I will have a lot of opportunities from here on out. So I’m not disappointed that I didn’t make it this season.

What are your goals for next season?

I heard that you have to get to the semi-finals to get to the season finale. Since the WCS is the most important tournament, I will put getting to the semi-finals as my goal.

Anything else you would like to say?

I want to thank KangHo, RagnaroK, ByuL, YoDa, Mvp hyung, First, Ruin, MC, Seed hyung, Hurricane, and Sound for helping me with practice. The supervisor and YoDa left to participate in a Taiwanese event so I hope they come back safe and sound. Also, First will be attending DreamHack shortly so I hope he does well there.
Mvp hyung really helped out a lot with practice, giving me advice, and coming up with strategies. He even pointed out all the areas that I was lacking in so I think that’s why I was able to put up such a good result. I want to let Mvp hyung know how grateful I am.
Lastly, I want to thank our sponsors LG Electronics, Googims Company, Steelseries, ASRock, Kingston HyperX, Nvidia, Coca-Cola, Super Flower, and DX Racer.

Shouldn't it be Squirtle is attending Dreamhack, not First? They have similar names but Squirtle's ID was on the list that Dreamhack released.

Thanks Seeker.

MVP always has his teammate's back :p.

Aside from Losira I think I'd want Yonghwa to win the next season more than anyone. How sick would it be if he just went full Life and royal roaded the OSL after 2 years of trying to make it to the top. Not likely, but he does at least have the potential to be a code S regular.

I mean we need a protoss champion replacement for Seed ;;

FINALLY YongHwa

tyty

Edit: I've noticed that a lot of LGIM players have been thanking Mvp for practice and builds recently. This is in stark contrast to 2012 when he was never mentioned, likely because he was not practicing. Looks like a good sign.

YongHwa. :D I am so excited to see him play in the OSL. Also, it's always amusing to me to see someone make it into Premier/Challenger league, and thank their long list of practice partner.

Also Mvp seems to have regained his passion. :o Helping out YongHwa a lot, not only is that really sweet of him, but I think it's also indicative of what he said in his WCS interview: He's practicing more than ever, after he lost his passion at the end of WoL.

Btw, it's definitely Squirtle attending Dreamhack, him and First have the same name.
