You could just put a post-it note on your monitor, sure; I don't think it's "cheating" at all, but if it's against ToS, which I'm pretty sure overlays are, it can get you banned from bnet. Sorry OP, it's an awesome little tool, but I won't be using it unless I know for sure it's green. Plus I have two monitors.

So you can make those build orders cover your whole second screen, you cheater!

You're basing your entire point on absolutely no evidence. 'I think' was your strongest point of conviction. get the ToS control+f "overlay" please think.

You could put it on sticky notes around your monitor if you want. This doesnt actually give someone any real advantage other than saying : look this is what you do up to 40 food and 3 minutes into the game Cool app will definitely help with learning new BOs for sure.

I was recently teaching my brother how to play. He has some video game experience but no RTS experience. Learning builds/strategies is nothing new. But watching him constantly have to look down at a peice of paper to see when he builds his next pylon, only to not watch the probe that walked right past his first pylon into the back corner of his base..... Good for those who don't know a build and can work on both their awareness (looking at the overlay kind of like looking at the minimap) and the build itself at the same time. Eventually they won't need the overlay and can instead use this skill of constantly looking over at something to good use with the minimap.
