already subbed good podcasts maybe add an additional caster sometimes. Both of you are funny but after awhile add a little extra flavor sometime. Brett Farve jokes hilarious. Other than that good stuff I don't even follow BW but like marty's bw section. foreigner section was good. It is like a latenight talk show I like that. Current format is good. Right now I only listen to you guys and SoTG cause its more hardcore focused and not causal. Please stay that way.

awesome to hear!!! thanks for all the kind words guys for sure we'd like to get a guest on each week to spice it up a bit, just holding off a little bit until we become one of the premier sc2 podcasts out there and if any of you have questions you'd like to ask for us to read and answer on the show, you don't need to email them to us like we ask on the show, you can go ahead and just post them here
thanks again

latest episode was just posted. so far we've gotten some nice feedback from you guys, please let us know what you think?

Current PvZ State after patch? Also maybe you could go over what builds you guys use or using currently for the different match ups. Or maybe just go over builds in general and what you like dislike about them or if you find them difficult to execute. right now I dont think any podcasts at all go over builds even in general they more or less just talk about what they might be using. Downloading newest episode right now.
As far as premier right now best 2 podcasts atm imo are SoTG and MartyandBorg

Thank you so much ozii I love hearing that. There was some technical problems out of our control this past episode, I mixed it the best I could XD. and those are great ideas and will be brought up next time we do a show, we will also answer your question about PVZ on air. Thanks again for the input and I think it'd be fun to disect a build order, so we will see what Marty thinks,
thanks again -BorG

Hi everyone, it's Marty. Thank you so much for the kind words. It makes talking about Starcraft for an hour and a half a lot easier right after losing like six games in a row and wanting nothing to do with the game anymore. Which, coincidentally, is why I sound like shit in the 7th episode half way through. I broke my headset after throwing it against the wall and we had to go out and buy a cheap one at Meijer right before we recorded at like 1 AM. After I got disconnected something happened with the levels, which probably has something to do with having a cheap mic.
Anyways, I'd like to talk about match ups and build orders, and we even tried doing that in the first few episodes. But there was a lot of negative feedback about it, people saying they didn't want to listen to "theorycrafting for 20 minutes from no name diamond players" which is completely understandable. I think we try to fit it in the best we can when we are going over weekly news, like regarding patch notes and such. However, we also realize that a lot of lower level players listen and would appreciate that kind of insight so we are trying to figure a way to get it back into the show. Unfortunately, me and Borg could talk about anything for the rest of time so we have tried to eliminate "filler" segments to avoid the show from being too long.
Also, if anyone would be interested in participating in our GSL3 bracket challenge let us know, we are trying to see if there is enough interest for it. We did a special show for GSL2 bracketology Joe Lunardi style and want to do another one for GSL3 but get listeners involved. A season ticket for GSL4 is what we are looking at for the reward.
Constructive criticism is appreciated! Let us know what you think, and thank you so much for listening.

Great podcast, been a long time subscriber (started listening when episode 2 came out). Very enjoyable banter / back and forth atmosphere that you can only get when you put two close friends in a room and get them talking about the things they are passionate about. Loved the GSL 2 season prediction episode (even if some of the picks were god damn outrageous, not naming any names here) and look forwards to seeing it again next season.
Look forwards to participating in your bracket challenge / any tournaments or events you host. (If i can make it which could be tricky seeing as i live in Australia and the time zones are pretty out of sync).
Got a few questions for any future shows;
How do each of you get motivated to play? ie do you set yourself a certain time to play 1v1 or a set amount of games, or do you just play when you feel like your in the mood (if so what type of mood / how do you get yourself into it). And as a follow up how do you motivate yourself to keep playing after going on a losing streak, or do you just ragequit and smash your mic everytime? ^.^
If you each had to create your own SC2 team roster of 5 players each to play each other's team (take turns picking a player / no double ups as your competing against each other), who would you pick and why? (this can also be sc1 pros you want to switch over)
What is the hardest build to defeat you've come up against?
And finally if you had to pick a celebrity actor to cast the GSL alongside jason lee in the event that artosis and tasteless had to leave against for whatever reason, who would it be and why?
|
Chaokel!!!!!! I laughed out loud reading what you said about the gsl 2 picks hahahahaha. These are some really great questions and I'm pumped to answer them on the show. Thanks for sticking with us so long and thanks for saying such nice things about us. It really makes all the time more than worth it.
Looking forward to answering these on air

Ohh and i will be out of town this coming weekend when we usually record, so we are recording wednesday at around 11 EST. get your questions in by then please
|
so far there are 5 people for the tournament for fans and 2 want to do the bracket challenge, if any of you are interested let us know. once gsl3 brackets go up, we will begin the contest and once there are 16 possibly 32 if it grows enough players down for the tournament we will begin organizing the format for that

Message for incontrol interview.
I have nothing personally against the idea of charging people money for coaching for a video game, but I also have no desire to be a progamer. I do wonder about your price point. $30/hr seems pretty steep, considering 2 hours is the price of SC2. Do you often get criticism about the price point? Are the majority of your customers satisfied with this price, and why do you think that the coaching you offer is worth $30/hr?
|
first time listener here. episode 8 i love the show entertaining.. and i like the different segments the other pod casts dont do.. like the b.o. keep up the good work guys. where are u guys from?
|
Chicago suburbs. You meant build order by b.o. Right??
|
These podcasts would be decent, if the sound quality wasn't soooo messed up... There is more hissing than voice most of the time... If State of the Game manage it with like 20 dudes, drunk from a HOTEL, you should be able to do it with 2 people from your homes?!?
|
Yeah, the latest episode my voice had hissing for some reason. will be worked on for episode 9

Hey guys. This is Murray from the aptly named Murray segment. Awesome work, glad to hear the sound is fixed from the last episode.
I'm super happy with how the show has progressed over the past episodes, it's awesome and i think it's appeal is that it speaks to the starcraft hardcore but has enough laughs and general banter that it can be accessible to casual listeners as well.
Sounds like lots of listeners are from canada and australia ha ha maybe it appeals to the commonwealth?
As for content i'll post here as well as email.
I think Ray Hudson would be a good celebrity castor for gsl if artosis and tasteless weren't available. Check out his youtube compilations if you don't know him ha ha.
My questions for this week are: if you could bring one unit from broodwar into starcraft 2 what would it be and why? And with starcraft 2 being so fresh and new, yet having such a hardcore following grandfathered in from broodwar do you think that it has the potential to be the biggest esport? (as long as the foreign scene gives it enough seating at events and provides sound proof booths so people aren't confused by the sounds of the halo crowd ;p ) Thanks so much for your hard work, and keep it up!
