I love this guy, he's such an awesome dude, and so humble. It's nice to see someone who isn't cocky.

I really hope we see more foreigners go further in future GSLs. I'd hate to see SC2 become the one-sided Korea fest that BW always was.
On my way...

Start with getting through the prelims, and then set your goal one step higher every time you advance.

Wait, really? Top 16/8/4/2/1 arent seeded thru to the next Ro64? That seems a bit ridiculous.... Would be such a gaybar if fruit didnt qualify for the next GSL :\

They don't start seeding until the 3rd GSL or whatever.

Now we can only hope it hits 100,000 one day like 2005 ProLeague Finals or whenever that was.

impossible logistically unless they can manage to find an open space to fit that many people.
(the stadium they used today maxes at 7000).

Mmm, Cool deserves this win. I think patch 1.1 really, really defined his win but I'm not trying to reduce his win in any sense of the word, but it's clear that he is an amazing Zerg.

So how does GSL actually work?

Ive read something like it having 3 GSL seasons, and then doing the GSL finals or something. So basically the 3 seasons are for the players to gain "points?" for a place at the final season. Is that right?

That's cute that hydralisks were his "special" strat ;D Can't wait to see him in the next GSL, most inspiring player of the tournament.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

He is a BALLER and I LOVE him. People normally cheer for the underdogs and the race he played was one but he could have won the GSL with ANY RACE!!! I am so glad to see a FACE of SC2 and one that is such a nice guy with COOL personality. People like this will only ensure the success of SC2. I am so Happy today.

If I understand correctly, this and the next two 'GSL's' are just simply 'pre-season' tournaments in preparation for the full season in 2011 with all events proper. At the end of the year there will be some sort of competition I guess including all the best performing players of these three GSL pre-season tournaments.

Awesome event, great games and everything but I was really disappointed by GomTV, I had such an hard time making everything work.. the quality of the stream should have been HD, instead i got just a "decent" one, kinda like youtube on 480 or something... it was lagging heavily every once in a while and they don't offer any support for mac os which made it a pain in the ass to make it work

I hope they do something about it, and their support is horrible -.-

Man, Cool is the best. Lot of respect for the guy.

Not to go into the BW vs SC2 thing, but I hope the GSL catches up (not sure if 3500 is a lot of people) and SC2 has a bright future. Some of the games in this GSL were awesome and I'm really pumped for the next season.

He makes it sound as if ITR ever stood a chance, what a humble guy. Whether Z is balanced or not, there's no question about Fruitdealer playing at another level compared to any Z, P or T at the moment. I hadn't even watched many of his games but goddamn that guy knows his SC2.

Well first of all, this is in Korea

Secondly, this is the first Korean tournament ever and that's a huge fucking number. That's a big first leap, and how epic this tourny was I can only imagine that would double next season. This is great, and GomTV is really paving the way for Starcraft II. When I was watching the Ro32 and Ro16, I remember only seeing like 50 people max and I was just grimacing at how small this seemed. Then I see that there were 3500+ at the finals? This is great. Yeah, it's no 2005 100K people, but it's still 3.5k people and it's a great first step.

Here's to hoping enough people bought the season passes and will continue to do so for the next two, so that when the full 2011 season starts we get 1080p streaming.

Upon completion of this GSL, I know that 20 bucks is well worth it, even with the lower quality streams.

Aww anyone else feel bad for Cool? His parents never supported him but now when they're set to gain $85,000 they turn up to the event? Also Cool's mom is straight away on the phone probably bragging about how she has all this money.

I dunno just think Cool should of kept like half the money for himself.
