If Gobert is now positive it means you have to quarantine all the jazz players + all their opponents from the last 14 days which is 6-7 teams depending, plus all the teams those teams played.
Suspended season is the only option other than just playing through, because there is no point of trying to be selective.

over/under 1 month of suspension

I think its an alright number to set it at, but I dont think it will turn out being 1 month in the end. It might be a short 10-14 day hiatus to flush the virus out of NBA players and staff. If not it will have to be longer than a month by quite a bit to be effective. If the US's response to Corona works well the raw numbers will still be going up or near the peak 1 month from now. The US would have to have the best domestic response of any country by far for that not to be the case. You will notice our corona curve is slightly behind other Western countries because we were a little more aggressive than them with Chinese travel early on. But, everywhere faces the same problem once you have enough infected people walking around. So maybe we have a slower development and lower peaks, but that still indicates probably significantly longer than 1 month until our infections are really starting to decline. And that is in the case of Americans being responsible, and the governments, federal, state, city, schools, etc being responsible as well. In many ways state governments are probably the most important of the governments in this case.

The NBA did ask all the players from the teams the Jazz played in the last 10 days to self quarantine. I believe it's 5 teams affected. Pelicans vs Kings, the last game that was supposed to have been played before the suspension, ended up getting postponed as well because one of the scheduled refs was reffing the Jazz vs Raptors match.
Slower development and lower peaks is what a lot of experts are now hoping for. We are still in the middle of flu season and hospitals already have a lot of patients. We can handle a longer but lower peaking pandemic.

welp Donovan MItchell tested positive
i wonder if OG has it? OG fought with Gobert and had that big block at the end of the game.
If people are wondering how to pronounce Rudy Gobert's name I've taken the time to create this little guide... + Show Spoiler +
if anyone is wondering how it ends.... it doesn't end well. + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler +

I don't think Gobert buying his teammates each a BIG SALAD is going to make up for infecting them with COVID-19 !
Anything he touches for the next 2 weeks will be infectious anyway!

We need some Gobert-OG yaoi art....maybe with coronachan in the background.

Gobert should be embarrassed. He just became a laughing stock of the entire world with how he acted and what happened. It's so ironic that he didnt take it seriously and being the "ground zero" of the NBA.
It's like something out of a movie.

it is interesting to note that during 2 separate interviews of Mark Cuban he stated 1 or 2 Jazz players were infected.

I think that belongs in the non sequitur hall of fame.

A non sequitur is a conclusion or reply that doesn't follow logically from the previous statement.

Hard to tell based on spread and onset, but I would say 4 weeks is the minimum just to be safe. I would imagine the league is back by mid-April. I would imagine the league will also give ~1 week to reconvene and practice before getting back into game action.

It's really hard to say. This feels like the sort of thing that could flare up at any time if just one undetected person with mild symptoms got missed.

When Gobert got ejected from the Jazz//Raptors game I distinctly recall him throwing off a piece of his clothes and tossing it to a fan. He also did the same thing in the Detroit Pistons game.
https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2020/03/12/rudy-gobert-coronavirus-detroit-pistons/5034313002/
When the game returns its not going to be a 100% joyful experience. A firm barrier between players and fans must be in place. Traditional courtside seats probably won't exist.
The NBA can try and restart the season.. However, what do they do when in the 2nd round 2 team mates test positive? Does that team get eliminated from the playoffs? What happens if some player who tests negative on May 10 gets infected May 11?
