even if you don't count lawrence (because he's not eligible to declare), you still got other potential first rounders in:
justin herbert (oregon) jake fromm (georgia) shea patterson (michigan)
then some wildcard names to throw out there include kj costello (stanford) jacob eason (washington - if he lights it up this upcoming season) sam ehlinger (texas) nate stanley (iowa) jalen hurts (oklahoma)

Tua can declare next year.

Damm I could have swarn it was two years of playing in college before you could get drafted.

IN college. 3 years removed. You can thank Maurice Clarrett for that.

I think it can succeed and has a future as long as it says as far away from the NFL and college football as possible.

So yeah, this Super Bowl might not have been the most interesting one. But given the the previous two were pretty great, I guess a dud was given at some point. The only positive thing i can take away from this is that hopefully, people can realize that punters and special teams are absolutely an important part of a team.
Still, as a Colts fan I am happy with out season. We made the playoffs despite a 1-5 start. And we have new great head coach and lots of young talent (I believe I saw during some broadcast that we have the youngest team if you ignore Vinny).
(Slowpoke response from me due to vacation and stuff)

How much of the Patriots' success do you think comes from Belichick not putting up with ego or bullshit, and how much does that affect other teams?

I think ego/bs is part of it, but I think it's more important that both those bad traits are inversely related to intelligence and hard work.
If someone is a diva it probably means they are coasting on talent and are stupid and don't work hard. A talented smart person who works hard looks like Larry Fitzgerald.

I think the success is kinetic. Winning solves everything and despite huge problems that other teams have the Pat's can ignore them by winning and bringing up past winning. It's a lot easier to do maintenance than a rebuild.

Hunt going to the Browns, who become more interesting by the day

I have been enjoying the aaf so far, I hope it survives at least a couple of seasons
A professional-level developmental league would be really nice to have

AB requested to be traded. Where will he end up?
|
If it wasn't for teams tending to not like to trade to their rivals I'd say the Browns. But I could see the niners being a option with Kyle needing some success this year.
NFL trades are so odd because in basketball or whatever other sport you take a guy who is one of the best at his position and performing at a level above his contract. You would get a boatload. Even at his age. But with AB I bet they get like a 3rd or something. So they may end up just trying to make it work out with him.

He's on the wrong side of 30, which raises the question of how many more "good," much less "elite," seasons he has in him. I'd like to see the Niners kick the tires on him, but I wouldn't give up more than a 3rd (if that) given the other roster holes that need to be filled. The need for a receiver just isn't that urgent compared to the need to upgrade the secondary and interior of the offensive line (I'm presuming that the Niners will address edge with their first round pick).
Getting AB is a "win now" move, and I don't think that the Niners are quite ready for that. They would need to absolutely ace this upcoming draft and free agency. It's more likely that they'll need at least until the 2020 season.

Your problem is thinking he is outperforming his contract. This is not true.

I'd say he's what top 3 WR? His Numbers would say he is the best over the past 3-5. And only 17 of the 68 million he signed was guaranteed. Maybe not over preforming but at least performing at it. At age 30 you expect decline but not super severe considering no major injury history. Fitz is 35.
Usually the guarantees are at the front, but maybe this is something weird. But I suspect you could get out of his contract fairly easily if you needed to.

And Joe Flacco is a Bronco! no word on for what as they can't comment or confirm until March 13th. Here is hoping for some leaks.
