That game was a shitshow, I was there in the supporter's group. Sounders played like shit, Whitecaps dived with a player looking at them, and that ref had no control of the game. Super happy Dallas beat LA but I wish we were going into the two game series only needing a tie

No talk really of the draft yet since it's so far out, there's some talk about good college players, mainly that University of Washington is destroying everyone else

With the longhouse coming in theres a ton of buzz for a NASL team to come to Minnesota but we have this kickass soccer team already so MLS doesn't want to have a competing franchise. They can't get into the MLS because the owners of the local football team and the local baseball team are billionaires and also want to own the local MLS team. Go death loons!

I heard that negotiations were going ahead anyway and that MNU were still in talks with MLS about joining them. I'd be really happy if they did that. I fucking hate the entire management of all of our teams up here except for the Wild. They're all just woefully incompetent.

Yeah they beat Man U over the summer, not the greatest feat, but still really cool. That guy, Miguel Ibarra played a couple minutes tonight for the USMNT.

However that does not mean MLS is not discussed and only the other day we had about 4 days worth of postings on MLS level drafts and salary caps vs what is going on with money in the European leagues. So don't feel like you have to make your own thread when you can quite easily discuss exactly what you're discussing here in the other thread. It isn't good to divide the football niche on TL further when im trying to build it as a big part together

Do any other teams have similar promotional partnerships?

Steven Gerrard could be set to swap England for the USA – with the New York Cosmos a potential destination for the Liverpool captain next summer. Gerrard’s contract with the Merseyside outfit expires at the end of this season, with the 34-year-old having recently admitted that he could leave The Reds if the club do not offer him a new deal. Despite the fact that Gerrard is believed to be due to sit down with Liverpool chiefs to negotiate terms on a new contract, The Mail have claimed that Gerrard could make the move to America should he decide to leave England next year. It is thought that New York Cosmos – who has former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry as its board member – could be a potential destination for the midfielder. Even though the club signed Real Madrid legend Raul as their designated player last week, the franchise may still be able to offer Gerrard a favourable deal – with LA Galaxy also a potential destination for the 34-year-old. http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/02/steven-gerrard-could-swap-liverpool-for-new-york-cosmos-next-summer-4931453/?ITO=news-sitemap

http://www.redbullsacademy.com/academy/tryouts/ Players do get opportunities to play for the club as well. Juan Agudelo played on the youth team for 5 or so years and then got called up to the main squad for the red bulls. Now he plays somewhere in europe.

The reshaping of the Philadelphia Union this offseason continues with an intriguing twist as the club will announce on Friday a role for established European soccer coach René Meulensteen with the club. Meulensteen, whose resume includes a stint at venerable English Premier League side Manchester United as an assistant and most recently with Fulham as an assistant. A league source tells Metro that Muelensteen will be a consultant “to assist with the sporting director structure” of the club. He has been linked to the team over the past half-a-year, with erroneous reports this past summer saying that he would be hired as head coach. Source

Sporting Kansas City announced on Tuesday that the following four players will be out of contract with the club as of Dec. 31, 2014: Aurelien Collin, Kevin Ellis, Jacob Peterson and Soony Saad. Sporting Kansas City will extend offers to each of those four individuals and contract negotiations are ongoing. Additionally, Sporting Kansas City and midfielder Lawrence Olum have mutually agreed to terminate his contract pending League approval. Sporting Kansas City will retain rights to Olum within Major League Soccer, per MLS roster rules and regulations. The club has also declined contract options for Antonio Dovale, Andy Gruenebaum, Michael Kafari, Eric Kronberg, Victor Munoz and Sal Zizzo. Kafari and Munoz will be eligible for selection in the MLS Waiver Draft on Dec. 10. Gruenebaum, Kronberg and Zizzo will all be eligible to participate in Major League Soccer’s Re-Entry Process. Phase One of the Re-Entry Draft will take place on Dec. 12; Phase Two will occur on Dec. 18. Source Also relevant picture:

Annnnd I thought the new NYC team could be my 2nd team... but after those Citeh replicas, I can't bring myself to do it. I almost prefer the Red Bulls brand to being a second class citizen. It's amazing that New York fucking City can't get its own identity and brand.
