Regular season matches are played in 3 best of two sets, determined by total map score, then by an ace match if needed. 3 points for a non-ace win, 2 for ace win.
Round robin format.
A Chinese player (including players from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) must be included in each match's lineup.
That TIME vs Cure game was just like TIME vs Maru, only faster. TIME has good early game and is ahead, but his army engagements are poorly chosen and executed, so he loses anyway.

I never considered TY to be short for his name. I like to believe that it's because his former name was Baby and TY is the maker of beanie babies. So really he's the beanie baby Terran.

They need some god tier level coaching to make sure soO never plays a Terran again.

For anyone who does not know what "KaiZi" means, I will try my best to explain it. The word "Kaizi" stands from "凯子“, which comes from Southern Min, a dialect spoken in Fujian province of China. The word "钓凯子” means young beautiful girls attract rich men to buy gifts for them then abandon those poor men after receive gifts. I believe the word "凯子" is best to described as "the rich fool, or idiot who pay the bill but get little return".
The KaiZi Gaming is founded by such four billionaire idiots. They are all scboy's friends in real life and play e-games together. The richest one of them is also Xiaose's friend since childhood and became cousin-in-law when they grew older. He is also a long time Blizzard games fan and sponsored an offline Master's Coliseum last year.
When the first season of CTC was in progress, the event looked attractive. One day when the 4 idiots chatted together, they declared: maybe we can create our own team, just called "KaiZi" gaming. A lot of people, including myself, thought that was just a billionaire's joke, and there wasn't a lot of available teamless Chinese or Korean players left at that moment. Some of them declared that since they are rich, they will contact the most well known players around world, such as soO, Maru, InoVation, and even Serral and Neeb, but the result did not seem good. However, they eventually made this a serious team, recruited teamless Korean Bunny and Super, Chinese player Misaki, and hired retired Courage, also a long time friend, as team manager. In the last, Innovation agreed to join them after his previous contract ended in mid-August.

Yep. And Fantasy did. They're pretty strong!
Yeah, they are in quite a nice position now! Also, somewhere unknown GoOdy just randomly smiled upon FanTaSy stomping Zest with Mech.

Cannon rush + proxy robo seems to be Parting's standard PvZ play on Triton. He also killed Solar in NeXT just like this. Fxxking insane blinking immortals.AlphaParting confirmed.
It's PartinG. His micro used to be the most outrageous yet beautiful thing in SC2. He seems to be back in some sort of shape where he can make a lot of that magic happen again. His clownish antics and builds maybe distract from it sometimes, but PartinG's a really gifted player and he probably wasted the chance at a lot of success with his long break from SC2.
We are shapping up to have a very thight race for next week: JinAir-Kazi probably for first in A, and Neebew-LP for 3rd-elimination and in B TSG-P1 for first and Psystorm-Chivo for 3rd with Ocean also in the running.

I doubt the third place of Group B will be the result of 2w3l.

Well only Psistorm can go 3-2 so if they lose next week (assuming they beat BK) then it could be a three way ties at 2-3 going to map score differencial.
Firefly in Ace match? Well, it seems that P1 already get 1st place. They have one more point than TSG. Even they lose to TSG in ace match, they would have same points, while P1 has overall win advantage.

Goes to show that this system is bad. Actually bad is probably understatement. 5-0 being worse than 4-1 is absolute nonsense.

Not necessarily, It works this way in volleyball, 3-0/3-1 victories give 3 points to the winner and 0 to the loser while a 3-2 gives respectively 2 and 1. A 5-0 could give less points than a 4-1 in a group stage, it's fine.

Which team is the better-performing team, the team that won every match albeit some were close, or the team that won 4 matches and (barely) lost 1? I'm pretty sure the points are wrong on this one.

Well, ace victories are treated like a slightly better draw, let's say it's half a victory. Once you know the format in advance, it's fine and you should try to end the match before getting to the ace match.

Sure, if you agree to the rules of a tournament you have to live with them. Doesn't mean you have to find them good. Also doesn't mean that I as a viewer don't have the right to be displeased with the fact that Pixel 1 made an anti-hype troll pick for the ace match because they knew it didn't matter.

Who's saying you don't? That doesn't mean the system itself is necessarily bad, some others could like it. If PartinG or Fantasy won their second game, Firefly could have probe rushed Nice in the last map they had to play because LP's first place would have been locked anyway.
Sorry for yesterday's short-cut stream, I'll also be taking today's matches off to continue testing my internet ahead of NationWars later. I will cast tomorrow and try to do a couple of the other series that I missed this week at some point.

I don't know the order of the map win so I won't (could you imagine if somehow the great Liquipedia was tainted by falsehood?), but it's 2-1 OG now Armani-Toodming went 1-1, Special now 1 up vs Daydreamer.
BSG vs IG ended up 5-1: 1-1 Huricane vs IA 2-0 Cyan vs Xigua 2-0 Dream vs Macsed
5-1 for OG. Now lets see tomorrow what happens when PSISTORM wins in the ace match. The QQ if OG goes through with a 2-3 score over PSISTORM with a 3-2 score will be epic.

From what I can tell PSISTORM advances with any winning result now because they won head to head vs Ocean Gaming and any win nets them a better map score because Toodming dropped a map today.

Was only because of my internet issues, otherwise I'd have done both. Had to spend the afternoon yelling at my isp ;(
The last match between PSI and Chivo will be interesting to watch. PSI will qualify if they win regardless score because they have better overall wins. Chivo may qualify only if they win 5-1 at least, then they would have same score but better overall wins. If Chivo only manage to win 4-2, they would have same score and wins with OG, but OG won their head-on match against Chivo, thus sending OG to play-off.
Lol. OG getting pretty lucky that Sakura is killing it today. Not over yet, of course, but looking good so far. Even with nothing on the line for him and everything for Chivo :o

Oof that could be a veeery strong team.
could be interesting
btw, do you guys like this format or would you be interested in a move to a Proleague style Bo7, (but each match itself is a BO1)?

Umm,I prefer the former one. If it goes to Bo7,the team must send their best two players for the first 4 games, and the match may be finished before CN players perform if it comes to 4:0. And the purpose of current format is to help CN players get more chance to play, especially play with those skilled foreign players and learn from them.
By the way, am I right in thinking there's a scheduling conflict with ST now? Liquipedia has the Jin Air - OG match played tomorrow at about the same time when Rogue and Maru play their matches in Ro16. Or is that the team's problem, just field someone else?

I'm gonna be a bit of an asshole, but at some point I don't know if it's that interesting to add loads of team if the quality don't follow, it's not like Alpha X in it's current form could do anything else than scratch a couple of map win and make the important match up weight less. (Yes I'm still salty about Chivo) Maybe some partnership would be more interesting?

This just got a lot more likely! Dark seems to have left Gosu Crew, going by his Super Tournament appearance (no team name, no team shirt).
