Who gets the last playoff spot? In the running: mouz, Quantic, Liquid and Millenium.
Millenium and mouz need Liquid to lose here or they are out of the running. Can they rely on Empire-Ence to give their all against Liquid? For Liquid, win or loss is not decisive as long as they take their maps.
This battle does not concern Quantic. It is in their game against Liquid, in which they either win or die.
From Empire-Ence With Love: They put mousesports and Millenium into the best position possible! Great performance and sportsmanship from Empire-Ence.
Team Liquid now has to crush Quantic 5-0 to make it into the playoffs against all odds.
* = ace. Last player on team can be chosen from the entire lineup, even if the player was eliminated before. ♠ = joker. Player that is not part of the team's regular roster. Only one joker can be chosen per season who is eligible to play the entire duration of the season.

It always amazes me that people on this forum genuinely want Team Liquid to lose. What makes it even worse is the majority of this thread seems to want Team Liquid to lose to the 2nd or possibly worst team in this tournament essentially screwing team liquid out of a playoff spot. Makes no sense.. but I guess Kas and Elfi or whatever is more important than Team Liquid securing the playoff spot?

Team Liquid owns the website... The website is for ALL StarCraft and Dota fans, not just Liquid fans... ~_~

We only want TL to lose hard because we want mouz to advance, Well, at least that's for me.

god forbid people cheer for players/teams that aren't your favourite

Why is it bad to cheer for a team?
It's not bad to cheer for a team, but the overwhelming fan base here on *drum roll* Team Liquid forums seems to be in favor of Team Liquid losing. If Empire wins they basically gain nothing but a point to tack onto their 2nd to last place finish. If Team Liquid wins we get to see them in the playoffs with only 1 more win over Quantic. It just seems like there should be a little support seeing as how it would be awesome if TL made playoffs this season.

The power of the Empire/Ence/Mouzsports fans is too great!
+ Quantic/Millenium fans. Everybody wants Liquid to lose. ;;

Ah it's Mouz. Makes more sense now why everyone is anti TL. Still think it's ironic even though I know all teams visit here.

It's funny because Empire beating Liquid is like Luxembourg beating Spain in football. It's more the hilarity of the situation.

elfi is god. What TeamLiquid is?
I want mousesports to advance, so I root for Empire today, nothing wrong with that. Also this is the Teamliquid.net forum and not Teamliquidpro and Taeja winning everything always can become boring.

You know why people are cheering against TL? Foreigner bias.
TL loses against Empire-Ence (an all foreigner team), and Mouz (an all foreigner team) has a better chance of making the playoffs.
If Elfi beats Hero with his absurd PvP and sends TL out of the playoffs I'll probably pass out from laughing. It's not supposed to be able to occur, yet somehow it does.

Elfi being the last foreigner alive at DH Bucharest begs to differ.
IF TL loses today with 5-1 or 5-2 they are eliminitated. IF they lose 5-3 they need to 5-0 Quantic to pass mouz. If they win today , its winner takes it all vs. Quantic

That's my point, Elfi was known as 90 APM hero for a long time, and also for doing funny stuff like the fail force fields shown in the video, but then randomly goes and beats players he's really not supposed to beat. It's like he exists to troll the SC2 community, hence my belief that he is in fact an avatar of Loki.

So if we want mouz to advance, a 5-3 for Empire today and then a TL win vs Quantic (not to zero) is what we need for example.

Team Liquid tends to underperform in team leagues
what are u talking about
Well, first off Team Liquid should not be having any problem making the playoffs in this tournament. They have Hero and Taeja, and an ace revive (last season they even had 1 more revive, so they could have used Taeja up to THREE times in a Bo9).
Yet, last ATC they barely scraped in (+1 map win over Millenium), and this tournament they are also looking to scrape into the tournament. They should be doing a lot better honestly.
And don't get me started about their team league exploits in Korea....
I am still amazed how people are suprised when elfi plays good? Why is that? Coz of low apm? Even tho incontrol calls elfi as Ultimate Upset Weapon. elfi is known for making upsets like some think. For me it's upset if elfi loses!
A deadly sniper who appears out of nowhere, leaving his victims dazed and confused before he silently disappears into the darkness, leaving only the unspoken promise of death behind?

If they lose 2-5 they have (-2) and need to 5-0 Quantic to pass mouz (+3). Remember that on equality (at +3) that map wins > H2H and Liquid has more map wins than mouz no matter what if they win against Quantic.
TL can't be eliminated today since they have two maps already.

Taeja's had these early leaves before. It's weird. I mean, losing to a doom drop that flies right over 3 turrets can be rage inducing, but there's a lot on the line.
Idra moment or i did not seen enough stuff. Granted TaeJa had his own attempt to kill happy completely failed, and happy had nice position in his own production lol.

Liquid has -2 map score. If they win 5:0 they have 5:4 and +3 and are equal with mouz. But mouz won the direct match against team liquid so they would be out anyway.

Taeja was super dead, he lost eveything in his base and everything at Happy's natural, Happy defended his third and main perfectly. Taeja was 60 supply behind when he left.

I saw the supplies and it looked terrible for TaeJa (145 vs 89 something like that) but I don't understand how it dropped that fast. There has been a little hiccup though.
The table is sorted due to the following order: Total series(whole clanwar) wins Better differential in maps More wins overall in maps Less losses overall in maps Direct comparison between the teams and their series played in the order above (Total series(whole clanwar) wins -> Better differential in maps -> More wins overall in maps -> Less losses overall in maps). If there are more then 2 teams tied we create a table that only contains their series. The order is like above (Total series(whole clanwar) wins -> Better differential in maps -> More wins overall in maps -> Less losses overall in maps)

I respect the rules but I don't like the fact that the total numbers of maps counts more than the H2H. Maps difference yes because it's a round robin but number of maps ? :/
Like I said, liquid shouldn't even be in a position like this. They get to use Taeja twice, and they still can't easily make playoffs both seasons. Quantic is a 1 man team, but it'll be hard to 5-0 them.

Yes, I also find it strange. In case of the same map difference the team with more maps has a worse win ratio.

My money is on mouz or Millenium, since IG and col are beatable.
My money is on TaeJa all-killing Team HyuN tomorrow... HyuN is the only player on the team of TaeJa's caliber and TaeJa just 4-0'd HyuN a few days ago in the HSC finals.

Should have played better. They had the perfect format too, with all kill and revive for 2x Taeja. When Taeja is 40% of your lineup each match (not to mention Hero), how the hell do you not qualify for the playoffs?
Liquid just can't get it together for teamleagues...

Impossible to be mad when Elfi is playing on full boss mode. TL have only themselves to blame for this, they have an amazing roster but seemingly can't make it work in team leagues.
Man, I feel a little bad for Empire-Ence. They're the only team that doesn't have a Korean ringer as an ace card (well, except Invictus Gaming, but they have Jim) and their series have been a lot closer than their final score suggests. Fair play to them putting up a hell of a fight today even when they're already eliminated.
Also dealt a huge favour to Mous today. I'm still rooting for them to make it, but a lot stars have to aligne for them to go through :S

Liquid: 1. Total series: 4:4 ---> win against Quantic: 5:4 --> tie with mouz 2. map difference: -2 ---> 5:0 against Quantic: +3 --> tie with mouz, but if they lose one single map --> mouz advances! 3. Wins : 32 --> Win 5:0 against Quantic:32+5=37 --> Better than mouz --> Liquid advances!

Don't worry, from now on Empire-Ence will be remembered as the team who fought all odds and stomped over TL in order to make mouz advance into the playoffs!
do we have official information on how many teams can stay for the ATC Season 3 (that should happen) and how many will have to re-qualify? someone changed the 8th place on Liquipedia from "down" to "stay" but I can't find anything about that in the rules

Hey I changed it to 'stay', mainly because there was an formatting error in the Empire row. In Season 1 there were two spots, which didn't stay for Season 2, even though there are 10 teams this season instead of 9 (season 1) it's likely to happen that way again. But maybe they even want to open it up for more teams in season 3 and the bottom 3 or 4 teams will have to requalify. But I don't think there is any official news/rules about that (yet), at least I didn't find any as well.
