The Evil Geniuses Master’s Cup Series League will feature 12 teams in a round robin format with each team matchup containing at least four best of three games between two teams. The top four teams at the end of the season will advance to the playoffs on a two day live broadcast weekend.
Tougher one to call. I could definitely see at least taking it to the ace match. Where it goes from there, i don't know. I just voted for Acer partially because of my foreigner hope, but also because slayer hasn't always performed up to par.
On that note though, Dark has really been proving useful for his team across all the team leagues. Its nice to see new zergs rising out of slayers =)
Come on man, 6 Zergs out of 8 players? Not a single Terran? This is pissing me off. Most TvT is boring as shit sure but it's nice to get some variety from "oh look, Zergs".
Plus, Scarlett is so awesome in other MUs and I've only seen her in ZvZs in MCSL so far.
My predictions:
Arthur 2-1 Bly Brown 2-1 Nerchio Scarlett 2-0 Miya Dark 2-0 Paranoid
Hmm, Arthur should beat Bly, but Nerchio and Scarlett should be favored in their matchups. Which means Slayers may need to depend on Dark winning a ZvZ...ugh
I think Bly and Nerchio should win their matches but I am less certain about Scarlett vs Miya. I think it'll come down to the ace match and that'll largely depend on who Slayers sends. Of course, Scarlett could just continue the pwnage, Miya's ZvZ was nothing special at WCS asia. Plus, paranoid is pretty great as well so this match could REALLY go either way.
This is an interestingly hard to predict match, though every part of my heart is screaming at me to go with SlayerS, so yeah. <3
GO SLAYERS!
Also its nice to see the B teamers getting some real work in, its pretty great. :-D GOGOGO SlayerS not-so-much-B-Teamers-anymore!
EDIT: For match predictin's...
Lesse... Arthur v. Bly. So far, Bly seems like he can compete pretty well, so I won't count him out, especially because my knowledge on Arthur is minimal, but KR Protoss will be my bet here, I have faith in SlayerS. Arthur 2-1
Brown v. Nerchio... oi, I really have to remember Nerchio's track record and the general track record of EU Zerg v KR Protoss, and Nerchio and Stephano are the cream of the crop of that batch. But Brown is a ZvP man... I'm going with my brain here, Nerchio 2-1.
Miya v. Scarlett. Mmmmmm... Scarlett wins this. Sorry Miya, I am not impressed by you so far. Scarlett 2-0
Dark v. Paranoid. Dark has been super strong last I've seen him, like, really, he was the one to slap down Liquid's hope v SlayerS in the IPTL right? Dark 2-1 or 2-0
Can't predict ace match, but... I have faith that it'll go to SlayerS, though Acer certainly COULD take it.

SOME TvT is actually quite fun - both Puma and Thorzain put on interesting TvTs, and some get really intense (like Bomber vs Taeja in IPL TAC3).
But man, after watching Goody vs DBS I nearly wanted to cry from boredom.
At least PvP and ZvZ are usually a lot of fighting and stuff.
TvZ remains my favourite matchup to watch, and I'm Protoss.
Brown 2-1 Nerchio - I mean cmon, Brown just beat Life, hes probably (one of the) the scariest PvZ right now
Miya 2-1 Scarlett - I feel like ZvZ is Miya`s best matchup, dunno about Scarlett, havent seen her against Code S/A opposition yet
Dark 2-0 ParanOid - Dark is plain and simple one of the most promising up and coming Zergs right now
"Zombie" SlayerS still boosts a lot of firepower, imho Brown is a better choice than Puzzle right now, while Dark might be in better form than CoCa. So maybe more like "New generation" SlayerS?!

Whoa now, I love Brown myself and I think he is a very strong player, but let's not overrate his PvZ. Life is honestly no ZvP specialist (his ZvZ and ZvT are his strong MUs), and it was only 1 series.
I'd actually say Nerchio is favored, considered how he was able to beat MC twice in Bo5s recently.

Not thaaaat recently. Very recently, he has been struggling a bit, often losing to Sage's all-ins and other Protoss players as well.

-__-;; Brown doesn't lose PvZ
Still he´s afraid of Scarlett
Scarlett is a zerg bonjwa, everyone's afraid of her...

Ok, Scarlett is far above bonjwa, she's "God"...Man, didn't you see her destroy eveyone in one of the most difficult tourneys(NA WCS) and stomping everyone in IPL4 open bracket?
Her only losses were due to her going easy on her opponents...Didn't you see that she only plays in tourneys with no big names, because every big name doesn't want to be humiliated and are afraid of her astounding playstyle.
I think people are vastly overestimating Dark. While he can make some upsets, I don't think his play is too good. Though Paranoid isn't exactly at his caliber, I wouldn't be surprised by a 2-1 by Paranoid. 2-1 Dark
Miya vs Scarlett ; Scarlett is favored if she's on a good day I believe, could go either way but since I'm a Scarlett fan I can't say Miya will win. 2-0 Scarlett
Nerchio vs Brown. that'll be a great match. No idea what will happen. Sometimes Nerchio is brilliant in ZvP and sometimes not. Brown seems favored (although that's weird to say of someone who struggles to qualify for Code A). 2-1 Brown
Arthur vs Bly will be a close one I believe, Bly's pretty good ZvP and Arthur has had some decent results lately in online tournaments. 2-1 Bly

Lets make this more constructive shall we? Please state your definition of the word "sublime".
Because I would define it as: scaling the summit of a mountain you look down at the lands below and realize how small you are but how much you can accomplish, that moment is sublime. Or alternatively, the moment in Scarlett's ZvZ where she has won but her opponent hasn't realized that yet and struggles in vain against her might.

Which Zergs are you talking about?
I have seen the future and it is good.
But also: Vibe, Ostojiy, Ryze...
Though I see your point, she hasn't really been up to snuff in the EGMCSL so far has she? I'm a bit worried now.
urk. bly got clicked. looked to be in a decent position before that though, so probably not a disheartening series for bly, albeit a disappointing one.

He messed up in a tourney and voluntarily lost to give Byun a better shot at getting into Code S, so both Byun and Coca got suspended... Not having a fight with SlayerS management...

the leaving game had nothing to do with any GSL seed stuff. common misconception due to people perpetuating the myth. the reason coca left game 2 and played a game 3 was because all of the slayers terrans were at MLG and Coca had to play terrans in Code S. They decided to play another game so Coca could have more practice
Hahaha this is awesome. It reminds me of a match Sheth played on Metalopolis. They had a super long no supply fight with infested terrans and broodlings. I guess this one had more interaction between units that actually cost something. O_O
thats what scarlett should have done at that bottom right base i feel, like 10 spines and just saw THIS IS MINE. although im not a pro zerg so maybe theres a very good reason behind it, or she simply forgot to/didnt think to
i strongly disagree with casters saying "this game was bad' or w/e, look for positives, or just dont say it, you want people to watch so dont tell them that youre bored/dont want to be watching this game

Probably just because there isn't a strong response to collosi in that matchup. Void rays just don't do their job. And you can quickly reinforce a winning battle easily with a crap ton of gateway units.

I completely understand your point of view, but on the same note I don't enjoy casters trying to pretend like every game we watch is some epic GSL finals material. In regards to the last game, they could've just simply referred to it as "interesting" to say the least, but even then there is some level of euphemism amongst the truth.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! I am LOVING this game.
Seriously Incontrol, I'm super disappointing in your casting right now. Like, you can make statements about the skill involved (personally I think A LOT), but don't make statements like "this is the least interesting ZvZ" Not everyone has the same tastes as you.
With that said, normally I love your casting and am a big EG fan in general. Just please, in a 30 minute ZvZ don't write that off as boring for all involved. Even if we have seen a couple of these tonight. We're seeing the evolution of a matchup, and that's great.

You know what would make this a lot more watchable is if they DIDN'T have every unit selected (or display health, however it works), because you can barely tell what's going on as it is, and the health bars are almost blocking vision of all the units themselves.

Love Scarlett. Glad she won the series, but felt that she was really passive in the late game. Wish she was more active. Miya definitely did the better job denying expansions and using ling runbys. Her early game and mid game appeared to dominate, but seemed a bit pointless when you let the opponent max out and play an over 30 minute 200/200 game.
But the Broodling vs broodling were pretty funny. When 400 supply of zerg is all concentrated on one screen with over 50 infested marines, I really can't tell what the heck is happening.

Kind of wish colors in SC2 were more vibrant.
There's always that Color Blind mod but there were a lot of mixed reactions to it in TSL4; although, can you do that anymore with the MPQ chances in that one patch? I kind of forgot about that
