The GIGABYTE StarCraft II Cup is a weekly tournament organized by Freaks 4U Gaming. The new tournament series, sponsored by GIGABYTE, is held every Monday at the European Server. Each Monday at 16:00 GMT (+00:00) everybody with an European StarCraft II account can compete for a prize money of 150€ in total and additional ranking points for the season final with a prize money pool of 750€.

The GIGABYTE StarCraft II tournament will be played in a "pool system" with high and low seeds until the quarter finals. Starting with the quarter-finals each round will then be played in a single elimination grid system. Quarter- and semifinal held in Best of three mode. The final will be best of five. Maps will be vetoed until the right set of possible maps is found.

During the tournament, the pool system will find the next available opponent automatically for the participant to minimize waiting times between the matches. A limited number of players receive high seeds in order to not eliminate each other before the final rounds. If a high seeded player loses his match, his opponent will inherit his high seed slot.

It's actually not per month, the final will take place after 11 weeks. So one season lasts about 3 months.

Still looking forward to today's cup, 150 Euros are not bad at all and as I'll be casting the event I hope we'll have a lot of people participating!

Looking forward to this cup! The tournament system and the mappool is very good. The prize money should attract some pretty good players =), I guess. Khaldor will cast some amazing games hopefully!

Hm I can see Darkforce, Dimaga, Deathangel, Delphi, Lowely, Happy and Beastyqt so far. This definitely needs more Protoss^^

does anyone by chance know more about nerchios hotkey setup? hes using 1 for all hatches, seems like he isn't even hotkeying queens at all

and do you use grid with this kind of setup?
