moonglade is 3500 ladder. And anyone equal to him would rape anyone top tier US and EU on a regular bo5 basis.
Top tier US and EU outside of korea (excluding huk glade jinro haypro etc) wuld be rank 250-500 on korean ladder. And would only split top 200 with a 50% ratio.
I have to admit that the Europeans didn't play well in this tournament, but I think you exaggerate.
One tournament isn't enough to make such conclusions. (e.g. Naama at Dreamhack).
No he's not exaggerating that much. Any foreigner who has played on every ladder will tell you how difficult the Korean one is. Korea is getting far ahead of the foreigners. Really it shouldn't be unexpected, don't know why anyone wouldn't think Korea would be better than the rest of the world. Unless they never saw sc1.
I'm not denying that the Korean server is far stronger and that Korea is ahead of us, but I don't think that Moonglade or other 3500 Koreans would "rape anyone top tier US and EU on a regular bo5" basis. Haypro (~3500 on Korean ladder) for example was 3 weeks in Europe and he wasn't on a higher level than top Europeans.
I was refering to the other 3500 pt ladder in korea. Most of them with a 60+ ratio. Sorry, i made my post at 3 am Moonglade is not up to that level just yet. Hopefully sometime soon :D
Oh, what? I didn't even know Ace made the finals of this. ACE. SO HANDSOME.
Edit: Haha and undefeated until the final round. Why did I miss this? Handsome to the max.
Edit 2: Man, the TLPD is such a mess. Couldn't related information be related in the database in one way or another? Right now there are three different pages for one player and only one of the three pages lists his championship. But they all list the same team history and stuff like that. It would be nice if you could select the set of results you want to look at from a pulldown menu like you would with the filtering options.
Well if anything is certainly going to make FFE and stargate play more popular in PvZ. I believe it was a 14 forge, 18 nexus, 18 gateway, 18 cannon, 18 pylon if I remember. Ace seemed to love that build. I'll have to watch the replays and get the timings down.

Seems like the build that San (Zenith) uses fairly often as well. He's been showing great games so far this GSL. Turning that into blink stalkers, 2 robo or 2 stargates makes lots of entertaining games if u ask me.
theres a difference in gameplay of first person shooters? i thought it was just point and click. what makes counterstrike different than bf or halo or cod or tf or gears?
1. Watch this video 2. Open mouth 3. Remove Foot 4. Open anus 5. Remove stick
There isnt a foot in my mouth, nor is there a stick in my anus.
Well, seeing as how you aren't the person I quoted, I think the former is not quite true. I cant speak to the latter yet. However, I suppose I should have specified that this recipe for success doesn't apply to everyone.
Also, I dont think you watched the video
this to me seems just as impressive as the video you posted.
im not trying to start a shitstorm i just really dont understand why cs> all other shooters, besides mouse and keyboard is a lot easier than a controller.
i think the biggest reason fps are pretty terrible for e-sports is you cant really follow whats going on, maybe if there was some slick overview shot that showed where everyone was and cut to first person views off in on it would be a lot better.
and whether we like it or not shitty graphics is a turn off to newcomers who might be interested in watching.
The main reason why that video is uninteresting is that all of those kills are against random scrubs. Anyone can get cool kills and streaks. Not many can do it against people that play competitively. The fact that they are assisted by a magical fairy helping them hit their targets is another detracting factor.

lol, consoles have so much aim assist it's a fucking joke. all these kids quick scoping and thinking it's sick should do it without the game helping them aim 1/3 of the way.
these videos are from COD4 on PC(aka you actually have to aim to hit), and not the regular game. it's a mod called promod which would for any fan of high level play would enjoy. it's no quake or cs, but it can do such an easy and simple game some justice.
even if you don't like COD these videos are simply amazing anyways so yea :D
That is some horrible fucking editing, particularly in the first video. Ruined it for me.
D: I really don't know what you're talking about; even if you look down on the game type (low skill fps played against scrubs) the video editing in those two videos is astounding. Not from a spectator viewpoint, as one who is trying to follow a full game's intricacies (of which I agree, CoD is quite lacking as compared to CS), but just as an audience those are great spectacles.

The "Koreans own white dudes" thing is totally a joke. Moon's actually quoting a video made by a famous white dude broadcaster.
From my experience Moon has always been very respectful to everyone and if you want to blame anyone for this situation, blame me. I winked at him before I asked him to say something.
Regarding the cheering for the Nydus worm on map 2:
Moon commented on that situation in an interview with German eSport website "Readmore":
I'm not angry at the audience. We wear earphones and a headset and it isn't possible to hear the people. When I was ingame, I couldn't hear a thing. The Nydus just wasn't placed good enough.
We only focus at the monitor, so the players have no idea what is going in. It didn't matter.

I'm confused how Ace can do a FE like that on xel'naga caverns. It seems to me that early roaches could snipe it so easily. I wonder why Moon thought banelings were a better choice over roaches.
Also, that 2nd game was sad. How the cheering tipped Ace off.
Oh this was a week old already. The finals were some unconventional games heh.
