Mappers' Circle Mapping Competition (Or MCMC) is a project of mine where we invite all mappers, no matter how skilled, to participate in a tournament held by me! The tournament features a theme everytime and this MCMC's theme is the Melee Neutral Units Mod (Or MNUM, looong names :o). This is the first official run of the project but we DID have a test run edition a couple months ago, which produced maps such as
Joensuu (Marras)
and
New Rotterdam (Sanglune)
The test run's theme was that of Upgrade, where mappers took an already existing map and "upgraded" it into a greater version of itself. As of then we did not have a prize pool as it was just a test run and the Patreon wasn't up and running then, but for this one we have a 50$ prize pool. (May increase if we get new patreons prior to the end of the voting phase.)
MNUM:
The Melee Neutral Units Mod is a Dependency mod (Basically addon) mappers can add to their maps prior to making them and it features, as the title hints, a fair amount of neutral additions to the editor. Full list is here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MBGGsoHsynNFG5nbm9_NInB7ZqyK8b2XyUfIhYgmvMY/edit?usp=sharing of additions, but most notable ones are one-way walls (Basically blockers that can only be passed through one side to another), wormholes (Portals that transport ground units from one another) and Hybrid containment cells (Breakable cells that release strong Hybrids to serve as area denial, kinda like angry rock towers but with a lot of power).
Tournament duration:
Tournament lasts from now til the 1st of November, with voting ending on the 14th of November, during which period I will be hosting games on any submitted maps alongside other mappers.
If you feel interested in participating in the tournament, please feel free to join us over at our Discord, as there is where everything is at. https://discord.gg/WX3q4ZX , don't be intimidated if you're new either, us mappers are generally very helping and we've seen some promising mappers pop up in the past couple months from seemingly nowhere.
Thank you for reading, - The MCMC Team. Credit to Zuratul for the cool banner and MCMC Logo, Eclipse & KillWithFire for the fantastic work on the MNUM mod and to everyone else in the MCMC or Mappers' Circle community!
