MCL, MapCrafting Lab, is a map making team formerly known as LoS. Due to logistics we have decided to rename the team. The new abbreviation will improve map searching results and is better related to our goals and ultimately our team image. As map makers we believe that being in a team benefits us all in creating better maps through sharing ideas and extensive testing. We greatly appreciate comments on our maps good or bad. Since the beginning of SC2, tournaments have been missing new and refreshing maps for their pool; we aspire to get the best maps into tournaments. We encourage everyone to try our maps and tournament representatives can contact us about any information. MCL is here to help e-sport grow by making the game more interesting with our maps.
Our goal as a team is to get our maps into tournaments and show players how much fun a creative map pool can be. This is the dream of any map maker, being able to see his map on stream and saying ''hey it's my map that is being played''. There are a couple of other map making teams, but MCL is a bit different, we search for upcoming talent and see if the map maker would benefit from our team. All members of the team have grown since joining us, we will continue to grow and hopefully get your help!
Recently we were fortunate enough to recruit 3 talented map makers. EatThePath and WRL have been in the game for a long time and have always shown great potential; talent that will turn into great maps once settled in on a team. Antares has already had quite a bit of success and is best known for Hysteria which won MOTM #5 and tied for first in MOTM #6.
Also, one of our members was able to get his map, Twilight Peaks, in as a finalist for the TLMC. We congratulate Ragoo for making it!
Our goal as a team remains the same. To have a ton of fun making unique maps while working hard to get our maps played by as many as possible.

My name is Jesper ''Archvile'', I am 28 years old and live in copenhagen, Denmark. I'm educated as a teletechnician and have been working with internetconnections and cell phones for about 10 years. I have played every blizzard game since warcraft: orcs and humans and my first experience as a map maker was with warcraft 2 and began making starcraft 2 maps in january 2011.

My name is Hugo ''Icetoad'' Perron, I am 15 year old and lives in Montréal, Canada. I'm a high school student that speaks French and English. I've played BW at the age of 6-7 then switched to Warcraft 3 TFT, playing a lot of dota. Starcraft 2 is my first experience of map making. I began map making around the beta- release. I'm a mid-high diamond Terran that was before random since the beta.

My name is Pete ''wrl'' French. I'm a 26 year old IT SysAdmin in Philadelphia. I've been a casual mapmaker since 2003 with Counter-Strike later moving on to try my hand at WarCraft 3 and now StarCraft 2. I find mapmaking to be a great outlet for challenging your logical and creative skills and while I've never had competetive intentions, I've found the team to be a great way to learn and to teach. The end result is everyone creating some truly inspiring pieces of work.

My name is Philipp "Ragoo" Schoneville. I'm 20 years old, from Germany and I study computer-science and History at the moment. I come from a Age of Mythology/Age of Empires 3 background, but only started making maps in SC2 at the end of beta.

Hi my name is Nathan "SmashHammer" Hofgesang. I'm currently studying biological and chemical engineering in the US. Starcraft 2 is the first competitve game I've played online. As a mapper I've experimented with the editors of many games but Galaxy is the first one I've really worked with beginning in winter 2010.

I'm Nick "EatThePath" von Beroldingen. My screen name comes from Marathon, the predecessor to Halo. I made maps for those games and most everything else I've played in my 26 years. I played BW as hard as I could for about 18 months before SC2 beta came out; I attribute my masters rank principally to that brief "training". I try to apply gamesense in my mapmaking to create unique dynamics and BW style play for the player and spectator.

How the map pool works?:

The map pool contains 10 maps from our map makers. MCL maps are chosen with these criteria: Balance, Innovation, Interesting features for game-play. We also try to take maps that are aesthetically pleasing and nice, but in the same time simple to not cause any lag for old computers. In the future, the maps will be replaced by better maps or more balance maps.
We are currently updating our map pool to have the MCL tag and to have all maps to be available on both EU and NA.
