TSL has been great so far. Awesome coverage, awesome matches and incredible and spot on comments on builds, moves and just about everything. I was talking today with a friend of mine and we both share the same idea of what is lacking, or what could be improved on the next TSL. If you look at pro level matches, the commentators are really good at keeping the hype up by yelling and "exagerating" the more thrilling parts of a game. Being from Costa Rica, we have the soccer (main sport) narrators which are just as effusive and expressive when someone is attacking, one retreats or when there is a goal. Even throwing a nice joke here and there makes it much more enjoyable :D. So I have to say that I would like the commentators to put some nice exhilarating flavor into the matches. Thats exactly what I think Tasteless has been training for in Korea (you can see the difference on the first matches to tha last ones).
Both commentators on the TSL are awesome(ascencion is great too), and I just hope they will both loosen up

i will be eagerly waiting for TSL 2.0!

my thoughts:

this really brought some players into the limelight.

the production value was really good, although i kinda hoped for more as the TSL progressed

for me, things kinda peaked early. i loved the ro16, but my excitement started to fade after that. i didnt even watch the last two weekends live. couldve used more promotion within the site, such as posters, bios, etc, given the scope of the project

all in all, excellent. the commentator combinations were experimented a lot, but i found that chill+artosis was my favorite.

obs did a good job keeping pace with the action, and although there were times where i notice things on the minimap and he was off doing something else, i think the optimistic view would be that he wasnt going so fast that people wouldnt be able to follow.

Since i joined teamliquid it got better and better with every project you guys layed your hands on.

This whole project has been nothing but one great league. I care mostly about korean leagues so i do admit i wasn't watching all the time. But when i had the time i was impressed by how well you set everything up. I think you found the perfect balance and solution to host a major foreign tournament online where (mostly) everyone was able to participate and you stired up so much interest that oldskool and newskool players gave it a shot.

While for me teamliquid allways stood for korean progaming you now managed to build up a platform that has value and prestige for the foreign scene.

Keep on moving teamliquid.
(Well i guess we all know you do, that's how good you are!)

is it possbile to cast something live too ? tsl2 finals for example

there were also too many streaming difficulties, stream was down and crashed way too often.

and yeah streaming difficulties but whatever at least they were fixed in about 5 minutes

The TSL Finals definitely were more exciting than the most recent MSL/OSL. Thanks a bunch, and keep up the awesome work!

Personally, i loved chill and artosis' casting. They were very informative and knew the game inside and out. (however it of course wouldn't hurt to yell a little more)

I definently think that the foreign scene needed this. Many of the players who partook in the TSL were not widely known and went into this whole deal with only a hope and a fast reaction time. Many of them came out as superstars in the scene (JF, Brat, among some) and that is excellent for the scene and for other aspiring players.

This makes me pretty angry because you're full of it. The stream was down maybe 5 times over the month of TSL broadcasts and only once (on the final broadcast) was it down long and that was only around 10 minutes.. I wish you'd stop manufacturing issues to pad your post.

Hey,

All in all the TSL project was an amazing success and I was very impressed with the organization and execution. As far as the stream downtime, yes there were issues, but this was only the first of many to come. I have full confidence that R1CH and any other techies will make the process smoother for future events.

But this seems like a good TSL constructive criticism thread so here is my feedback:
- The commentators did a great job - Chill, Artosis seemed to cast the majority of games and the analysis they provided (along with Day) was very good. However I DO agree that enthusiasm could be taken up a notch-if you're commentating on future events I think a good way to practice would be to watch other well known commentators-even if it's basketball or football-whatever. Analyze and learn how they 'elicit the wow.' Also some more humor would be nice too, I think Yannis did a nice job with this. This would help retain the audience's attention at times-like the first 2-3 minutes of the game.
- I liked the live interviews and would like to see more of them.
- I noticed the observer not showing what I want to see sometimes - OK that's always going to be an element, but I think quicker movements sometimes would be nice. There were a few times where plays were completely missed - like critical storm drops. Also, making a habit of selecting units more so we can see their HP/upgrades often would be nice.

That aside, the event really hyped me up and I'm really looking forward to the next!

Am I alone in the opinion that I don't want the commentators to be like Tasteless if they aren't like that? I think the chill artosis combo is great - and I think they are both enthusiastic. They're not yelling or raising their voices.. but that doesnt mean there is no enthusiasm. Anything different would seem faked and annoying.

I love Chill and Artosis and I really miss Gentho. I only heard Day[9] once or twice but he was great as well. The only people I didn't really enjoy were Manifesto, Vaul, and the other buy. The games with Vaul and the other guy(don't remember his name, dunno if they said it i watched the vods out of order tho..) they asked too many retarded questions. I mean about EVERYTHING and it just seemed to waste too much time. But eitherway, I liked them all. I just think Chill and Artosis definately shined above all the rest.
