Jinro struggles in open bracket MLG, MC still places at least top 3 at every foreign tournament he attends. It's not like he hasn't done anything new, he HAS developed a new style with his stargate play and zealot archon and phoenix in PvT, etc. just as much as any other protoss. It's like people forget he's by far the most innovative Protoss in SC2. He's having a hard time in Korea like every other protoss ATM. 11 top 3 placements in major tournaments, 2 being GSL wins, and people still act like he only ever won a game when he 6 gated. Really pisses me off. Hearing this crap about MC is really getting on my nerves as well. I must say Tyler was right about MC's style back then. But that doesn't mean anything about MC the player. True, his last GSL victory was in March, but he's placed highly in every single foreign tournament that I am aware of, DH Summer being the lowest, and all of those tourneys having at least some Korean competition. Sage may be the next great thing, or Hero, and I'm all for anything they brings to the protoss, but Puzzle was supposed to do that as well. It's too early to write Puzzle and MC off, or to say that Sage or Hero are the best Protosses--way too early. What are us fans missing about MC? Artosis, Wolf, Tyler, and others all seem to have issues with MC's play. Naniwa's gonna be even better soon I hope.

Well, we all know Artosis is a fanatic about "right-way-to play", he's a fanatic about smart intelligent all-around game. To be honest, MC and Polt are the same type of player, just different races, and i concur with the opinions of Artosis, Wolf, Tyler that when i watch MC/Polt play nowadays, even if they win, i also hate seeing them play, i cringe at their timing attacks etc that people simply are catching on to, it's just not the high level of play that deserves the hype they recieve.

Haha what shit. MC barely even does timing attacks anymore, if anything he needs to incorporate more into his play. The fact is MC pioneered aggressive AND macro protoss play. His stargate play in PvZ, chargelot archon, phoenix builds etc. Even Artosis has said MC has the best macro of any toss IIRC(recently). It really is insulting and offensive when you label MC like that when it's not true in the slightest. Even in his early season wins, he had many macro games as well as timing attacks. Did you see MC play vs Select at IEM? Him beat Taeja and Ryung in macrogames in teamleague? His play at NASL finals? and that makes you cringe? He's been considered the best protoss in the world for more than a year, and only now is that title even debated, and yet you act like he won a GSL by 6 gating everybody(not true) and thats it. GTFO.

What we all (by we I mean protoss/other MC fans) liked about MC was not only his (used to be) amazing timing pushes. We liked MC for his superb, and I do mean superb, unit control. We liked MC for his impeccable mechanics. Combined with the amount of risk he took when playing, MC's play was incredibly entertaining. Personally I just hope he'll come out with new builds and starting entertaining us again.

Seriously, where the fuck do people still have the idea he does a billion timing attacks. He's playing poorly and making strange decisions in his recent games in the GSL but that doesn't mean the reason he was ever considered the best was because he just did timing attacks.

Fionn did a great job too ![]() I liquibetted MVP out of my fandom for Doctor G, and I had to watch it via VoDs at work. I felt like a fool when Happy went up 3-0 Then my hero came and evened it up. Then it looked like there was no hope. Then TAiLS beat MVP, and was looking good against NesTea. NesTea was about to doom drop TAiLS AND I HAD TO GO WORK I spent an hour and 19 minutes on a knife's edge....so worth it. I thought the logical outcome was StarTale and IM as well though, so I can't really blame you ![]()

MC beat select plenty of times recently before the super tournament and select is code A caliber. MC's just in a slump and toss in general being behind in the meta game. It's also ironic that genius and hongun who love timing attacks are still in code S, therefore the more consistent tosses of late, using these tactics that wolf claims to be MC's downfall. It would make more sense if he said MC deviated from these timing attacks that led to his downfall (although I don't believe this either but would make more sense) Any toss that would go into the up/down will have a hard time staying in code S and will be endangered in dropping out of code S. Name any protoss right now in code S and say they would make it out of the up/down easily. There's only 5 atm and they are: Genius, Puzzle, HuK, Hongun, Killer. + Show Spoiler + 2 of the 5 already played this season, 1 going to up/down and the other came 3rd in his group Also, Killer and HuK being in the same tournament as MC recently (IEM gamesconn sp?) and they both placed lower than him; and where MC came second only to lose to Puma. I've seen MC play great macro games against good players like Puma, Sen, Losira. The Puma and MC series at NASL finals were some high level and macro oriented play. He also came in second that had other code S players there as well: zenio, july, and alive. The reason for MC's downfall is MC being a bit suicidal and picking MVP in the group stages trying to oust him so that he can catch up in GSL points to qualify for blizzcon. He also did it during a time that the Protoss was struggling (and statistics still show them struggling).

Don't write off what he said, it was dead on accurate. If Monster could beat him.. Almost every other Zerg player in the GSL is at equal or better skill. What does that say about MC?
