We should have everyone in Town roleclaim mafia on day 1, and lay low on day 2. Why?

If 2 mafia find each other, then they have to confirm by each killing a person, therefore sacrificing night checks.

However, on day 1, mafia may have a tendency to try and contact each other, and verify their assumptions on day 2.

Hence town should try to fuck with this process as much as possible.

This means day 1 we need to throw up tons of chaff, have each mafia have 20-30 potential mafia.

Then day 2, the mafia have to let people know whether they are mafia or not by marking a target--but that has been made impossible, because mafia can't send out a target to 20-30 people and then have it go through. They would either have to

A) kill someone else
or
B) not kill.

If A, then they run the risk of killing each other. If B, then they make it easier for the town to connect and harder for each other to connect, as every passing day without a mafia network is severely disadvantageous for them.

Hey guys, just wanted to apologize for my inactivity. My job has really been very busy since one of my colleagues left to take care of his father, who had recently fallen ill. I kind of have to be doing 50% more work than normal right now, and that follows a hiring freeze which locked out a class of analysts which could be doing work in the office.
