~marv it's not really his case, I actually agree with some of the points he brings up. it's the manner in which the case is written, and how fast he slunk away after you yelled at him Whenever the question of iamp's alignment is brought up in other games (where he is town) everyone is quick to scream "NO IAMP IS AN INNOCENT CHILD!" Do you see anything about his play in this game that reminds you of his near-mod-confirmed town status in other games? t
iamp came quite close to being lynched Day 1 in Themed Mafia as town. I believe for a time he was the vote leader not long before the final votecount. I don't definitely think he's town by any means, but I've got no particular reason right now to call him mafia, either.

Playing for modkill is a really bad way to play the game.

Which is why we asked the mods if he would be modkilled. Modkills are always unfortunate, but I don't get why town would be content with letting their KP be diminished by having their target die to something out of their control and waste the days lynch. But I'm clearly not seeing something that everyone else is. -S4 1) He wasn't going to be modkilled anyways. He was going to be warned.
2) Playing around a modkill is dumb anyways. What if he comes back at the last minute and makes a vote? He would end up being a nigh-unanimous lynch tomorrow, and likely stall out discussion.
3) Even if he was getting modkilled, in theory, modkill+lynch shortens town's lifespan by half a cycle. Meaning the last day would be MYLO instead of LYLO. But, if it happens in the other direction (say, a Doc save), then town gets an extra day before MYLO, unless a modkill already happened.

I say the fact that they continued to role-play despite everyone bitching about says that they're town. The whole modkill argument... I wouldn't put too much stock in that. While stupid, I've seen that argument used A LOT in newbie games.... and not only in newbie games for what it's worth.
This... this is not a good reason to have a strong townread on someone. You could easily make the argument the other way - if they gave it up immediately, they are immediately making the thread more readable, and making themselves more readable. Instead they chose to continue to be more unreadable than is necessary. You're effectively WIFOMING yourself into your strongest town read.
Just fyi, I think Golems are probably town too, but your reasoning is wonky.

Why the fuck is everyone so worried about me not posting much. This is not an 18 player game. It is a 9 player game. Marv speaks for our opinions, and if he's not around, I'll talk about what I feel is important.

I don't see that this matters. Hyrdas are one being. You must read fivetouch. Not kier, not marv, but fivetouch. This. Exactly.
I didn't sign up for the game to be a separate player. I wanted to hydra with marv to talk with him during a game about what he's thinking, what I'm thinking, and discuss with him and consolidate reads.
This conversation wouldn't even be happening if hydras were anonymous and people weren't signing their posts. It's a dumb argument.

This point about the list-post is terrible. Really terrible. What about the contents of the list post? I agree with most of the reads and I agree with most of the reasoning behind the reads. In addition, he said he needed to look into you, and then subsequently did so, making a series of natural posts regarding how you were posting and your alignment.

He gives one very obvious town read (DrParnassus), then gives a lot of slight town/scum reads one way or the other. Could I see a townie doing that? Yeah for sure. However it's Yamato, who's generally passionate and foaming at the mouth about things.
I'll check his filter again.

~marv Read the post I quoted. It's the only time he even MENTIONS Witty while town is fawning over lynching him. Not only was he otherwise ignorant of town's escapades, but he didn't even bother giving a read on the guy other than saying he's "willing to lynch him". Come on, Marv, this is scum VE and you know I know.

Obviously it looks bad, coupled with what I've said about Hapa. No, its not a loaded question. I wanted some actual thoughts about it. Do you think he's been intentionally avoiding the spotlight? He has had flashes of his town arrogance, but for the most part has been quiet. Do you think a scum iamp would basically out himself in the thread like that? I mean, anyone who is familiar with iamp knows that already, but its one thing for everyone to know something, and another thing for you to personally tell them what makes you scum and then...keep doing it.
On March 15 2013 15:08 Promato wrote: I don't like focusing on WIFOM like that.
What I do know is that they are both collectively confident, spam-happy town players normally, and I am not feeling that from their filter this game. It's markedly off, and it's something I have noted, but then again, most everyone is playing low-activity for their normal selves.
Then just a few minutes later:
On March 15 2013 15:18 Promato wrote:Show nested quote +On March 15 2013 15:04 DrParnassus wrote:On March 15 2013 15:00 Promato wrote: Is that a loaded question?'
Obviously it looks bad, coupled with what I've said about Hapa. Iamp/Hapa hydra has a pretty big filter this game though, how can you say that Iamp isnt being in the spotlight? I just reread that filter, and it's Hapa who is being active, not iamp. I really don't feel like they're worth pursuing any longer. Hapa does not look disinterested, despite the low activity. Compared to some, he is kind of spammy actually.
I think this line of dialog makes it very likely that Promato is town. He came in with a decently strong scumread on ObsQT. Then I gave him even MORE reason to think that Promato was scum, with the iamp thing. But then he up and changes his read.
I don't see a scum Promato doing that. I was actively trying to get him into some discourse about a potential scum suspect and get some genuine thoughts, and he could have used it to cement his read further and have more ground for pushing. But he didn't. If he's scum, he closed off one of his potential mislynch options, under no pressure to do so.
