This is a thread for your ideas.
If you have ever had a crazy idea for a set-up, a role, a mechanic, a theme, or anything this is the place to post it. Then we can talk about it and hopefully work it into something usable! So instead of just mass PMing Qatol all my stupid ideas, I will fill this thread with them.
So post any ideas you had, discuss them, think of balance, and hopefully we can come up with some pretty interesting stuff.
Maybe I'll fancy this OP up later but I'm sure you've all thought of some interesting role/setup ideas, so let's talk about them!

Tick Tock Mafia: Unlimited amount of players. 20% of the players are mafia. Each person gets a gun and can use it by posting ##Kill: LSB. After shooting you must wait 24 hours before shooting again. Mafia wins if they are still alive after 72 hours.

Some roles related to clues I thought up:
Scribe - When the scribe is killed, he will leave a clue or riddle hinting toward the identity of his killer (regardless of their alignment).
Psychic Detective - When all hope is lost on an investigation, the psychic detective can help. He can investigate a murder in which there were no clues and his minds eyes will see puzzles, riddles, and images. These are clues pointing him toward the killer.
Riddle Detective - Investigates players and gets a puzzle/clue hinting at their role or alignment.
Clumsy Mafia Goon - The clumsy mafia goon always leaves something behind when he does a hit. When he is in line to kill someone, he will always leave a clue pointing toward himself.
Mafia Hitman - When this mafia goon kills, he likes to make it look like an accident or suicide. He will leave a clue that points toward the deceased, to throw detectives off the case.
The Riddler - The Riddler is a serial killer who leaves very complex clues pointing toward his identity, or perhaps toward information that may reveal his identity.
You could have an interesting game where there are many town versus 1 riddler with very complex puzzles/riddles to solve. Even a multipart puzzle where each riddle solved only reveals part of the information needed to form something like a final riddle that reveals his identity? IDK I've been doing that draculas riddle shit and all i can think about is clue/puzzle stuff.

Law and Order Mafia: Heavy analysis/activity set-up (mini?) 48/24 hour day/night: 48 hour period for initial discussion, starting then each 48 hours town anonymously sends in the names of two players. The two players with the most votes are then put on trial, and must each choose one other player to help represent them. The remaining players form the jury. The two players on trial and their chosen representatives must convince the jury to lynch the other player and are given PM rights for the day. At the end of the day the player (and maybe his helper to give them motivation) who received the most (anonymous?) votes from the jury is lynched and the other is let free. Night follows, and then the cycle begins again.
Something I thought up for fun one day. :3

Clan Wars: Everybody in the game is a member of one of a couple mafia families, working to eliminate all other mafia families in the game. Each family has different roles, and numbers.
Could lead to some interesting situations. A variation could be that the mods don't tell the players that they're using this set up.

real time mafia
Every role, every action happens as soon as you send it in (and the host updates it) I like the idea of tick tock mafia.

I want to host a large-scale real life mafia at my college with the same day/night cycle and rough "standard" role setup we use here. The catch? No online / not-in-person communication, with the exception of voting for lynches and the sending of night actions.
Still working on the logistics. For instance, a forum is needed where votes can be public, and players can ask the host questions. Also, how to hand out roles? I'd like to do it in person, but I'd have to determine ahead of time who gets what role, and then what happens if they don't show up to the mandatory meeting where roles are handed out? In addition, there's the whole "John Smith was brutally murdered by the mafia" thing showing up somewhere online, which might not go over well.

Operator Mafia Everyone is a redirector. You cannot redirect a person back to themselves. Mafia members are also redirectors. Mafia gets N/2 kp

Like the plot for a really bad movie! Although, I imagine it will be difficult to get people to always show up somewhere and to make would would end up being a multiple week commitment.

Something I thought up for fun one day. :3 This sounds ballin, I'd love to play in this. Although it would probably have to be mini due to it's complexity. I'm actually torn right now, I'd love to help you create this game but I want to play in it as well

Well, the idea is that everyone only has to show up somewhere once at the beginning (and maybe again once it's over) so that roles can be handed out and questions can be answered. The rest is just interaction over typical school days, with votes and news being handed out online.

The players knowing in advance what it´s about is optional.
