Games Done Quick is a series of charity video game marathons. These events feature high-level play by speedrunners raising money for charity. Games Done Quick has teamed up with several charities throughout its history, such as Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Millions of dollars have been donated to great charities, thanks to the GDQ speedrunning marathons, and many prizes have been awarded to those who donate!

Awesome Games Done Quick is the annual GDQ marathon performed in the winter, while Summer Games Done Quick is the annual GDQ marathon performed in the summer. This year, SGDQ is from Sunday 16 August to Sunday 24 August.

Figured I'd get a thread started since I haven't seen one yet. I can't believe it's already that time again, they've very obviously converted this to an online format, which is nice - something to help us all escape 2020.

Woah it's already running - can someone who is familiar with some of the games highlight ones expected to be good? I used to enjoy the terrible games done quick section of AGDQ and the runs where the game is just completely broken (like the portal speedruns).

I watched Quest 64 earlier, which is my #1 guilty pleasure video game. The lineup for the week looks pretty solid and fun too.

Oof, busy day and evening with work. Thanks for the updates mods.

Also added the newer German stream, plus Russian and Portuguese streams.

On topic, I managed to catch both the Witcher and Batman streams so far, they were pretty decent. The guy who played Talos Principle....I've never touched that game, but he was so chill and entertaining as he just flew through his game, it drew me in.

Just finished Jet Set Radio, that was a really nice addition to the lineup.

As far as donations, I would predict they'd be lower, but we shall see. Maybe, maybe not, $307k at the time I am typing this.

Plume, I'm a bit of an old school gamer, I think in the past I've really enjoyed anything Zelda, anything SMB, anything Portal (which I missed already because I was asleep), but this year because streamers are literally global, there's a lot of new names I hadn't seen in January (the winter edition) and I've found some of them more entertaining than others.

So far, the few I've seen I haven't been disappointed.

Looks like I'll be missing 2/3 Zelda runs since I'll be asleep, so guess I'll have to hit the VODs there.
