The thief just made one mistake, after hacking the account he made a post on the eve forums bragging about his account theft and listing everything he stole (and an awful lot that he made up). That made it unusually easy to petition, the petition was pretty much two links, one to the eve rules and one to the post he made. Everything he took was returned although the freighter was returned as a little more cash than it was worth. Unfortunately the petition did not return everything the guy said he took or I'd have made about 10b from the entire affair. Action was taken against the account shared too and I will not be using it again. The owner of that account has my thanks for helping me out though and for being so understanding about it.

We jumped in and warped to me with the falcon staying hidden to try and lure them into escalating with their entire fleet before revealing the futility of it. Sure enough, they landed their fleet back on us and it was game on. However they had a surprise in store, the moment the battle got underway an archon landed. Things started badly with a gank fit brutix getting in cael's face while we couldn't get a jam (no gal jammers) but fortunately it's massive lack of tank meant that it got popped between repair cycles and Cael got free. While he was recovering his shields I set him with the task of finding me a fleet to deal with my archon so I could focus on FCing. Back on the field they had a harb, myrm, drake, mael, harb and raven escorting their archon but were struggling to really apply their dps. The harb got out of rep range and a rifter kept it there while we smashed it down. The first of Cael's volunteers landed on grid and I was pleased to see it was Suleiman Shouaa, a local cane pilot with a LOT of skill points, experience and dps. He wasn't on comms with us and the extent of our communication was him saying "that mael is arty fit, warn the rifters, I'm gonna kill it" before soloing it in about 30 seconds flat. They weren't getting anywhere as they were tied to the archon's rep range and we were nanoing so they did what anyone would and warped in a nid. We split our points between the carriers and the Xs in our intel channels started rolling in. Vanderie, the gunpoint FC, took over and we were quickly able to finish off the support in the form of a myrm, raven, blackbird and drake. Unfortunately the carriers decided they were committed and their support kept returning and Lee was sitting exactly 100k off an aligned point. A stabber fleet landed on him at 0 and 2 shotted his completely untanked hull, sending our shiny new falcon to its grave. Seconds later Sulei hulksmashed the SFI but still, . The entire op was getting pretty messy by this point and the free molden comms decided to crash on us which probably contributed to the death of a weird active tanked pest which was sitting within neut range of the carriers. It wasn't ours though but still, things weren't going perfectly. Gunpoint had cynoed in a carrier of their own (which vov promptly jammed) but they didn't have enough cyno fuel to bring in some dreads and the carriers weren't going down. They could have probably still logged out at this point despite us having 20 guys on the field. They continued to try and bring in support but there was just too much and all that they achieved was letting me headshot a falcon. We were very slowly breaking the archon's tank while we hit the nid with jams and neuts but it was painstaking work. People were bringing in alts, fuel, spare ammo and boosters to try and keep the damage up and eventually a cyno was lit up for two executioners dreadnoughts. Both carriers instantly self destructed but we were able to kill the archon about 15 seconds before it finished its timer. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=9529271

As to the falcon loss, yes perhaps literally 0 tank besides range and pilot ability isn't an ideal fit for the first roam you ever take it out for, although that has now been rectified. I should've been prealigned but I was just in the sweet spot for trying to get jams on the Nidd (1 km inside optimal) after being forced off the field twice by fighters, so I didn't want to disrupt that. Never fly a ship you can't afford to lose, and if the fight had escalated any more I would've been back on the field (with an LSE this time!) in around 5 more minutes. On a better note, nothing feels more baller than having 4 consecutive jamming cycles hit on a carrier. Falcons rule. More and more people flooded on comms and into system as Molden Heath made a pretty good showing all told!

Its not even an exaggeration. Before this happened, I got webbed, pointed and neuted by a carrier (lolololol). I warped back to a station to recharge and rep my modules. When I came back, about 30s later, the mael was gone.

You should have no problem with even the hardest L4, assuming you don't pop a ton of bad triggers or agro up the place. Just make sure you don't let yourself get webbed too long either, as your speed is a good portion of your tank.

The only real action I got where I was completely useful was falcon punching an enemy Falcon with a scram. I tried to chase down the SFI that sploded our Falcon, but the FC called me off - I'm still not sure why, I'm pretty confident that if I just caught up with him and dropped a scram, KwarK or someone else nearby could pop him in like 5 seconds. Anyway, scramming carriers is a bit of a trollish endeavor. At one point, I had what seemed like 40 or 50 drones chasing after me while I burned around trying to kite them. I figured that any drone on me was a drone not on a BC (something that could actually deal DPS). The first ship I lost was when I got neuted+webbed+pointed and then dronesmashed. After that, I lost a ship basically because I overestimated my ability to kite the huge flights of drones after me and didn't get a warpout fast enough. I remember at some point seeing some pretty sparkly shinies explode in the vicinity of my ship - apparently a Manticore tried to shoot at me. The Archon pilot knew of a trick I found with drones when I was doing low-level missions. When you first engage with your drones, their initial shot almost always hits because their transversal happens to be low when they "land" on top of the target. He was using Hammerheads sometimes (although only t1 hams), and, while they rarely hit me, they smacked the crap out of me when they did hit me.
