basically 3 factions are fighting a behind the scenes war for contracts...
supports 256 people online at one time
as of right now there are three major game modes
Sabotage.. where you defend or attack point a and b if they both are overrun at the same time it unlocks objective C if that is taken gg
Valor dominates 2 contracts with this game mode
Aquistion.. stealing 2 vehicles and getting them back to your safe house.... lots of bunkers... lots of defense that squads have to organize to get past... once you take out the AAA battery the squad or platoon leaders can call in artillery etc etc...
Raven dominates this
Domination.. This is the grand battle of them all 128 vs 128 there are like 8 or so points that have to be taken 6 to unlock the 7th and 8th.... takes a lot of coordination and can seem overwhelming at times
Sver (pronounced Sever) has this one...
the ingame graphics... not the best in the world but honestly...
0 lag and this...
or massive lag.... and drop dead amazing visuals...

I don't have the game, but many people are claiming that the game is zero lag, which is impressive indeed.
Before anyone starts complaining about the graphics, just know that the maps are designed to fit 256 players whenever it reaches the slot limit, so the graphics had to be sacrificed.
I'm still deciding whether or not to buy it since the only fps game that I'm already playing on console is Modern Warfare 2. Besides, Bad Company 2 is coming out in March, which I will possibly buy for the PC.

graphics are good... its not modern warfare 2 but once u start playing you won't notice they are above halflife 2 in my opinion
and yes I have yet to experience any lag what so ever..... very amazing game......
once you join a clan and get 8 people all using a mic and communicating it takes the game to another level 
and its a game where you kill to death ratio doesn't matter... I can finish 5-23 and still be MVP from the match just doing objectives and reviving people...

yes ps3..... sorry i should of put more information in the opening thread.. i can see how people got confused... but it was such a huge announcement a few years ago at E3 I thought everyone would remember MAG

apparently there's no lag at all and the matchmaking is good. so anyone who enjoys shooting people could enjoy this game.
really its just bland crap imo, but western americans will be western americans.

I played the beta for about 10 minutes. It basically controls and feels like a console shooter from 2004. extremely boring.

the new battlefield blows this away and it come out march 2nd so, i think ill pass.

From what I've heard, it seems kind of misleading. It's more like a 32 max players FPS rather than a 256 player online game. You don't really see the other 200+ players. Each 32 or so fight over a terrority. Think of it as a normal CounterStrike 16 players where each session is fought over different maps.

everything u heard is from xbox 360 players
on the 128 vs 128 when it comes down to the final objective... you literally see well over 150 models on the screen at once while still getting 60 fps..
granted usually ur squad is just versing other squads and the maps are so big... but the ps3 is still rendering everyone at once.... press select to view the map and it will show u everyone currently on the map.. the battles are epic.

MAG doesn't run at 60fps it runs at 30, and it slows down when there are a lot of things going on see here http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/mag-the-128-player-stampede/339199?playlist=popular.
BUT I do agree it is still pretty impressive (I only own an xbox360).
