I finished Dark (both seasons) yesterday and I loved it. I dont think i've ever seen a show so cold and calculating, not sure how others experienced the show but I experienced it on a cerebral rather than an emotional level. I dont say that as a bad thing though.

What this show does best is make you believe that the world is real despite all the paradoxes from time travel and all the weird stuff. Im pretty sure it will become a benchmark for time travel stories for decades to come. It deserves all the praise that its getting imo, After Chernobyl, this is easily the next best thing on Netflix.

Dark is awesome, but due to the nature of it's story it could crash and burn at every step. Let's hope it doesn't.

I've seen episode 1 of the boys last night, and it was surprisingly cool! They used interesting concepts, dark humor with reasonable plot.

And you can clearly see the references to mainstream superheroes like Supes, WW, Aquaman and others, a different version of Crime Syndicate.

Definitely worth trying!

I'm halfway through The Boys now and all I can say is that it's a true successor to Watchmen, unlike this crap that HBO wants to throw at us.

Edit: Finished it and it was glorious, highly recommended. So fucking dark... They managed to capture the spirit of the source material but tamed it quite a lot (still it's probably the darkest superhero flick out there currently).

Homelander carries this series really hard. And DCEU should learn from this show how to make special effects for Superman - when homie is using his heat vision it's downright scary and you know instantly that's the guy you don't want to mess with.

Good writing, good acting, cool effects, interesting scenario

It was obvious from the get go that the wife isn't dead. Kid was clear after learning she was pregnant.
Dunno why, maybe to much GRRM, but I was sure that either Frenchie or Black guy would die. Well, Frenchie got hurt bad, so not all wrong

Homelander reflects to me a more rational and grown up version of Joffrey for some reason :O And he also looks a bit like Ozzy from Watchmen

Probably the best series of 2019 for me so far. I didn't expect it to be that fun, cruel and interesting! Already waiting for season 2

Another Life - finished it in about 3 or 4 hours total because I was fast-forwarding through most of it. The show could be really good but instead of making it more compact and meaningful they filled it to the brim with irrelevant stuff. They want to add some depth to the characters through pointless conversations when some of those characters don't really need any more depth. The body horror is nice, the premise is interesting but the execution of it fell a bit short for me. 6/10

Honestly, so many of these shows, especially the made for Netflix ones, move soooo sloooowly. I really liked Daredevil/Luke Cage and Penny Dreadful, but stopped watching because they need to be 20% shorter.

I wish someone would make a good show out of Blindsight. It's such a revolutionary first contact sci-fi. Multiple personalities being an advantage instead of disorder, using vampirism for long distance space travel hibernation and vampire myth of fearing crosses being because their primal brains do not process right angles and simply shut down. Some amazing stuff right there. Won't spoil it for you, I really suggest you read the novel, it's brief and refreshing.

Just finished the Boys myself. I really enjoyed it! Give us season 2 asap! I was blown away that finally we got to see something that good, finally. In some moments tho it was the same stuff over and over again but I didnt mind at all. Like the way butcher was talking to Hughie to convince him to do stuff. 10/10 for me.

I don't like how it end because imo, there is no end. I know they want to have a season two and have something to show for it but dam at least give something to "finish" a season. Anyway, will still watch S2 when it will be available.

8.5/10 for me.
