Just finished Lucifer season 4. Like all shows it is on a decline, but not nearly as much as most shows. Can recommend if you are looking for some lighthearted action comedy to binge on a rainy Sunday

I just got into How to get away with murder. Its not the most consistent show and the later seasons get confusing but its a lot like lost really as its fundamentally a mystery show but it handles it a lot better then lost did.

Just like the poster notes, 10 episodes of 10 minutes each. To describe it in just 5 6 words: smart, British, sincere, light, relatable, well-acted.

Would it be cruel to point out that you have 6 words? Looks intersting though.

Doom Patrol S1 finnished last week.

One of the best series i have seen in a long time and for sure the best superhero series i have seen, leagues above most Marvel-Netflix shows, let alone the Flash/Arrow/Legends/Supergirl cringefest.

95/94% on Rotten Tomatos.

I actually only watched it because me gf wanted to see it as i don't like disaster show and movies. But this is an masterpiece of a series. It's like watching a horror movie with people puking blood from radiation. But the real horror is that something like this actually occurred. It also portrays a dysfunctional Soviet society and political system, but still shows the heroes and ordinary people within this society.

There should be 5 episodes in total, and currently 3 and soon 4 available.

The imdb rating is 9.7, and i would give it a 10 myself.

Just finished season 2 of The Wire on Amazon Prime. Man this show is amazing. I feel like Breaking Bad borrowed heavily from it. I give it a 10/10.

This makes me so happy.
Its definitely the best show ever made. Nothing comes close in terms of writing imo. It only gets better for the next couple of seasons too.

I enjoyed it but it did seem a bit lacking in the nuance department. Some cartoonish artistic liberties were taken, such as the fictional old party man with the cane and his speech. The level of internal denial in general seemed overblown. Overall, my main criticism is how they handled filling in the gaps in the source material, in particular with the dialogues that they needed to invent. The cinematography itself was top notch, and the message being conveyed is valid.

Wow that's great to hear that they keep the quality up. Yeah I agree the writing is so good and the acting too. Don't know how they can manage such a huge cast of characters yet keep the story tight and have everyone feel like a real person.

Good Omens

Bloody brilliant. This here, ladies and gents is how you make a TV series. It's like The American Gods meets The Omen, meets Terry Pratchett. It's a truly wonderful and lighthearted journey through The End Times.

I was rather skeptical about this series after seeing the trailer but got hooked on it from the first episode. It's actually very funny while talking about some serious problems of the modern world. The acting is great, characters are great and the entire structure of it is fucking amazing. Every reveal and reinforcement has its payoff, there are no bland and boring "filler episodes" or anything like that, everything has a purpose and nothing drags out.

I don't know if it's the actors' or the director's work here but all the little tiny details kept wowing me. Take for instance a simple scene where angel and demon are walking together and while angel always follows the path the demon always cuts the corners a bit, stomping on the grass. Simple yet effective in reinforcing their character traits.

10/10, would recommend.
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.

One thing I really love about The Wire is that it doesn't feel the need to hold your hand as the viewer. A huge pet peeve of mine is when writers are afraid you're too stupid to see how clever they are, like when someone says "pun intended."

I've watched The Wire many times, and I never noticed the connection between these two scenes from Season 1 until I saw it pointed out in YouTube comments:

The Wire is full of great subtleties like that through all 5 seasons, which I think makes it very rewarding and re-watchable.

While many viewers consider the fourth season to be the best one, I liked the third one the most.

Once you're done with The Wire I highly recommend watching "The Shield".

@Topic:

Dark, Season 2. I'm not done yet but so far I liked the first season better. I feel like season two is just "too much".

Jessica Jones season 3 was pretty good. Like the other 2 seasons, it's at least 2 episodes too long. Easily could have ended it up nicely at episode 10 without missing anything. A good last hurrah for the Netflix Marvel properties. Genuinely good acting all around from the cast (Carrie Ann Moss really delivers).

I thought it was much better than season 2 to be honest.

I watched 2 series so far this summer: Chernobyl and Cobra Kai (S2).

Chernobyl is a masterpiece in every aspect, if there ever was a perfect tv show, this is probably the one. 10/10

Cobra Kai surprised me a lot. I liked season 1 a lot and I thought that season 2 will suck, but it turned out better that season 1. This show successfully mixes complex characters/motivations with the cheesiness of the 80's. Billy Zabka who plays Johnny delivers such a good performance, I really did not expect this guy to be that good. 10/10
