If there'll be a whole season capturing the few and boring events of Feast I'm sure the ratings and viewership will heavily drop. I don't blindly hate the book, I just think it's really not fit for the series unlike the other ones. edit: Now that I think about it, since the show follows one single timeline perhaps they won't discontinue many of the storylines that suddenly stopped at book 4 and instead follow books 4+5 at the same time? edit2: Yeah I suppose so, thanks for the answers!

I can't see separating the seasons by location like Martin did for the books being a good idea. I don't think there's any confirmation on how many seasons it will actually take.

I only had three real problems with this episode 1) The Shae true love crap, going to make Varys look like an idiot and just in general seemed out of place. 2)Jaime being back in Kings Landing before the purple wedding... 3)Like you said no Ooomph at the ending, nothing to make you really crave the next season etc. Maybe they should have just done the Red wedding as the season finale, was too hard to top that the very next week. That being said though it did have some good points The small council scene was fucking great. Arya stabbing that dude was also great to watch. Jon and Ygritte was does very well too. So all in all not a bad episode, def not the worst but not really worthy of being a season finale imo Also where was Cold hands??? Weren't they supposed to find him with Sam when they went into the well???

"Lord Seaworth is a man of humble birth, but he reminded me of my duty, when all I could think of was my rights. I had the cart before the horse, Davos said. I was trying to win the throne to save the kingdom, when I should have been trying to save the kingdom to win the throne." Stannis pointed north. "There is where I'll find the enemy I was born to fight." Does this sound like the Stannis in the show? Stannis went North because Davos convinced him the kings DUTY is to protect the people of the realm before anything else. In the show it's just Stannis being Melly's lapdog and being a religious zealot who D&D clearly perceive as the badguy. Which is not surprising considering they've stated before Stannis is their least favorite core character. That ending was fucking horrible too. Dany's reason to stay in Mereen? Oh look she's a mother now. Yeah that's pretty cool I guess, but it's not something that hooks us. Something to get us hyped up for next season. Lady Stonehearts revival would have been the best thing to end the season on possible. Overall great season, great S9 climax episode. Just terrible finale. Worst episode of the entire series imo. The Arya coin scene coming at last and the Reekening was fantastic though, a shining light in this dark tunnel.

It's fucking disgusting D&D would do a 180 with a characters personality and motives just because they personally dislike the character. I'm going to give them precisely two episodes in Season 4 to fix this shit or I'm jumping ship before they ruin this fantastic series even more and I'll just wait patiently for GRRM to finish his work.

Eh, to be honest, I kind of understand where they're going with it. They want him to slowly redeem himself through Season 4+, and for him to develop through the series. Though I wish they did the character more justice. :\

Is GRRM even upset at how much they're changing him?

God I'm actually really mad at this. Stannis isn't even a favorite character of mine or anything but he's a pivotal one and deserves to at least be represented correctly. I hope he gets some major "redemption" later on.

I'll still watch the show, but I won't forgive them for how much they ruined one of the best characters in the books.

Unless they can condense book 4 and 5 into one season, then maybe....

Even from just an entertainment standpoint it was boring. The only good scenes were the Small Council meeting and Arya killing the Freys (another change). Theon's was pretty good, but it lasted all of like 3 seconds before jumping away again. Ramsay's reveal didn't have the weight it should have considering how much show watchers were kept in the dark over his identity. It was just like "oh yeah bee tee dubs this is my bastard and that's about it". So much for unraveling the mystery or having some kind of big reveal.
