All the Bloodbourne excitement and joy is really hard guys. You're hero can have a giant switchblade as a main weapon. The struggle is real.

Never felt too hyped or interested in the Souls series. After countless hours watching streams and reading about them they feel clunky and lack some refinement, and the much lauded difficulty seems exaggerated. As long as you are learning and get a hang of the enemy patterns you should have a fairly easy time.

Basically bloodborune combat has finally caught up to Monster Hunter 3 from 7 years ago
I keep wanting to try monster hunter. But every time I watch a video and that monster runs away to another screen, I'm like "Fuck that". Very little runs away in the souls games. It mostly charges you and ruins your life.
ds2 speedruns are actually so crazy. no clothes all run except those +%soul clothes for bosses lol.
ds1 runs as well apparently but I haven't really watched or played it
Aren't DS1 speedrunes like, incredibly broken?
I can't really remember I didn't watch it very closely last time I saw it.
The game got patched in both DS1 and 2 so the speedruns are no longer as silly and broken as before

ds speedruns are kinda weird imo because some categories are latest patch and some aren't, which isn't typical for most of the games that I semi-follow (most either allow old broken patches like morrowind or have a consistent patch all categories are run on/are on console where it doesn't matter)
less familiar with ds1 categories but I'd guess that they're similar to ds2 in that respect
and ya what kupo said
It actually matters for console. Some games like OoT have diferent routes for diferent versions, depending when and where the cartridge was made.
ya but afaik most communities have either standardized on a specific version or decided that if you're playing a slower version (ie sm64 with english text instead of japanese) then that's on you and you don't get a separate category
but yeah you're right that I shouldn't have claimed it doesn't matter for consoles, given PAL vs NTSC in smash I definitely know that that's not actually the case D:
OoT has the greatness of the iQue version
Not really. Even if NTSC and JP are diferent versions, they wont also split NTSC 1.0, NTSC 1.1 and NTSC 1.2, for example.
I'm not talking only about diferent regions. The same region can have diferent patches in console games as well.
+ Show Spoiler + I recommend this game for anyone to watch, It's really short and it is hilarious.
I quite enjoyed the blindfolded OoT partial run although that game is so broken that the no-holds-barred versions are hardly recognizable as playing the game which is kinda my idea of a bit too far.
ya OoT is so broken at this point I don't find it hugely interesting outside of understanding how the new strats work
MM way more fun to watch imo, Ennopp fighting~

I'm not talking only about diferent regions. The same region can have diferent patches in console games as well. I think we agree? All I mean is that I don't know of many games outside of DS that have one category devoted to "latest patch" which is constantly changing, as well as categories devoted to older patches that allow for certain exploits. Most games I know of have either standardized on one version or don't care which version you use.
