Please lets try to keep facts straight guys, cold blooded only increases cold damage on chilled/frozen targets, not ALL damage. Ah, I see. Will correct my post above.

That's my theory, at least. It will work better, Not because of Cold Blooded since that's Frost damage only, But it's for Snare. Blizzard Snare synergizes well with keeping targets in Acid pools longer and dealing more damage to them.

Can't really find a suitable 3rd passive for the blizzard/venom hydra build other than cold blooded.
so it's: - glass cannon - astral presence - cold blooded

K, I need some help.
I've been in Infero for some time already.
ACT1 was impossible at first. Now, with some skill changes, items, I've been able to clear them pretty easily (with 1/2 ally). I still can't tank (depending on my equipment, I have between 32k-40k HP)
ACT2 is impossible. Everything kills me
I just spent 1 millon for the Hell cow staff. Well, I guess the ponies are also too !@#!@ strong (wish I didn't spend that millon)
Right now, I'm using : Right : Arcane orb (lower mana cost) LEFT : Blizzard (lower mana cost) 1 : Hydra (Arcane) 2 : Arcane shield (Power - reduces damage to 35% if they are over 35%) 3 : Magic weapon (15% dmg and 2% knockback) 4 : Diamond skin (increased damage absorb)
It works really good in Inferno Act1. With Hydra + Blizzard, I can kite and don't need to switch skills to keep my Nephalem buff against the bosses.
It doesn't work in Pony level (not enough room to kite) and friends can't tank. It doesn't seem to work in Act2 neither. Friends can't tank the exploding bodies, the mosquitos. And the viper seems to find a way through them to kill me
My DPS is around 20k - 26k depending items and skills. Almost 30k if I use the familiar + all my damage items.
Passives are : *Glass cannon : Should I keep this??? *The one that improves Arcane shield (120 seconds and 310 health regen) -- I have a feeling this passive could be changed. Thoughts? *Arcane spells slow enemy
....
TLDR : Skill setup for inferno? Tips for being able to clear Ponies? General tips for equipments? Should I go full DPS? Should I go full vita? Should I try to find a balance? Any graphics showing how to balance the amount of vitality VS resistance? (Right now, I have about 4500-4900 armor (so 60% dmg reduction), and about 35-40% in resistance (around 180-250). With the current gears, I have 32k hp.
I used to have 40k life, but butcher would 1 shot me. I improved armor + resistance, and now can take 2-3 hits, even though I lost some life.
thank you

DPS/Health/Vit is fine you should be ok clearing act 2. Change arcane hydra to venom, if blizzard is your main slow you don't need the arcane slow change that to astral presence. Kite like a mofo, dodge stuff.
Full DPS is fine dont go too far under 30k health and try and get resistance as much as possible.

Yeah I tried it but the 60 second cooldown made it almost useless... I wish they buff it

Well cold blooded makes the most sense. I thought about blur since I'm going to ditch diamond skin soon and just rely on force armor.

Illusionist is a good survivability alternative to cold blooded if you feel need it. I alternate between that and cold blooded with my blizzard/hydra build depending on my needs.

Are hell/inferno ponies worth farming at all? Can Hell ponies be farmed easier (And for somewhat equivalent loot) than act1 of inferno?
|
I don't know how aware of this people are but the "Life on Kill" effect found on weapons actually triggers every time you spawn a Hydra. Food for thought.

My farm is inferno ponies. I think it's probably the ideal end-game farm since you can quickly five stack nephalem and then plow through 5-6 champs + chests in half an hour. I've managed to kit myself up quite a bit over the weekend in inferno whimsyshire as well. Some examples:
Ring + Show Spoiler +
One-handers. Both dropped in the same day. + Show Spoiler +
I also got a 2h with 900 dps and 255 int that's comparable to the one-hander above.
Whimsyshire is allegedly act 4/act 4.5 of the current difficulty. However, I think Act 1 is probably the better loot farm for gear over hell whimsyshire if you can hit butcher in an efficient manner with full nephalem since he tends to guarantee drop 2-3 rares and 5-7 blues.

Cool, that's great info. Thanks. Where do you get your 5 stacks of neph before you go to the ponies? butcher run?

act II inferno is loling all over me. The snakes are such BS with their invis. Would love a solid act II inferno build. I got about 37k dps and 24k hps. Actually would just like a act III waypoint. so sick of mashing my face into act II.

I take the following route:
Northern highlands -> immediately go to the left of the map for the watch tower dungeon and if it's there, clear it. Also clear any elites I run into on the way there. Cathedral gardens -> look for elite in the graveyard then go into each crypt and clear it.
On really good runs, I can get a 5 stack off the highlands trip alone (2 elites outside and 3 inside) which takes about 5 minutes to clear. Otherwise, takes me about 10-15 minutes if I only get the minimum 1 elite per dungeon I visit.

How can I get access to Whimsyshire? I know I have to buy recipes, items, etc., but I can't seem to find the required stuff for it...
Can I get it at the Auction House?

Can I get it at the Auction House? Just go fetch it yourself, it's pretty simple:
Black Mushroom => Cathedral lvl 1 Leoric's Shinbone => Leoric's Manner Wirt's Cowbell => Vendor 'Squirt' in Caldeum Liquid Rainbow => Mysterious Cave Gibbering Gemstone => Caverns of Frost lvl 2 Staff of Herding Plans => Shop in Bastion's Keep or drop from Izual
Upgrade the staff from difficulty to difficulty with lots of money
