HoGiL of Hite Entus is retiring. Official position is that he's lost interest in Starcraft and he's also reached the age of enlistment(it can be pushed back, but there's a social stigma on those who go late + the later you go, the harder it is). He's apparently enlisting(not in Ace but in the regular army) soon.
Enlisting in the army, NOT in Ace = safely assume he's quitting BW for good. Um, and for those who don't know, Hogil isn't suddenly doing something drastic. Roughly 2 years of military service is mandatory for South Korean men.
-edit- ugh do I have to? sources: http://esports.dailygame.co.kr/news/read.php?id=40145 and the official Hite Entus twitter account(tweeted the news an hour ago)

Because he's lost interest in Starcraft and/or doesn't see it as a career path for him anymore

Hogil
The Hogil Day9 Daily is one of my favorites. I think there might be two of them on Hogil. Anyways, this sucks. I've always enjoyed watching this guy. Wish his mid game had been stronger.

oh no.. He was developing into a pretty good player too.. This makes me sad.

Always a shame when a bw player decides to leave the game for good. Best of luck to Hogil in the army and whatever the future holds for him. And hey, at least he can say that in his final OSL match he took down Jaedong with him.

noooooooooooooo
Too many good players on Hite Entus I guess, harder for him to get playing time
|
He was a good player, always there for an interesting match. Best of luck to him. I guess he is taking it really hard since he is enlisting in the army, where as Effort just went to school.
EDIT: I assumed if you were in college you didn't have to go to military, my bad.

Uh.... army service is mandatory in Korea. He's at the age where most guys chose to go(I know because a lot of my guy friends are leaving either this or next yearㅜㅜ )
edit- What most guys(who obviously don't have a life like Hogil, but anyways) chose to do is to go to univ for an year or two, then take a leave of absence from school and enlist in the army. After it's done, they go back to school. Plenty of people do postpone it until after they're done with school(especially if they're going beyond a bachelor's degree), but people say it's a lot harder when you're younger than your superiors.

and the fat jokes about him on the internet slowly subsides and then completely stops..... : (

hogiii noooo!!! good luck to his next stage in life.

Not only did he go out beating Jaedong, but he participated in one of the most unexpected match results ever, the ZvZ tie!
Sad to see any player leave, best of luck to him.
