So if ESL censors their chat, how does the sc2 watching public address our grievances to the organisers of premier tournaments? When viewer numbers fall, how can we tell them why?
The comment that was removed was very mild and innocuous, contained no flaming, simply informed the ESL that they'd have less viewers due to the very poor casting choice of picking Wardii to cast. Even though many other comments hinted at exactly the same thing, that he was dragging down the casting duo, I thought the ESL deserved direct feedback but apparently they don't want that at least not live. At least they did have two casters making it somewhat watchable whereas Wardii will usually reject allowing anyone to help him cast in his own events.
Since I couldn't share my criticism in a mild and nice way with ESL on chat anyway, I may as well just come out and say it bluntly here now - nobody even actually likes Wardii. He only gets views as a caster because he has hosted so many small tournaments for so long and refuses to let anyone else cast - even when he was Platinum in WoL and trying to give analysis while having absolutely no clue what the hell is going on in the game.
The ESL isn't Wardii's tournament, the ESL is not forced to be casted by Wardii like how Wardii forces himself on us in his own events so he could force being a caster, so it doesn't make sense to use him. As a personality, he's not actually popular I've never actually heard a good word to be said about his casting or his personality - and this is going back well over 10 years.
Anyway, since it seems that the ESL chat cannot be used for the consumer to give feedback to ESL, I'm giving feedback here. If you used a real caster like the ones used on Wednesday, me and probably many others would've settled in for a nice night of Pro SC2. Tbh, I'd be too embarassed to even put the ESL on in front of my Girlfriend while someone like Wardii is casting, it makes sc2 players look creepy and weird.
