No idea why they nerf Yone's damage instead of his skillshot speed.
That Q in particular, and even his R as well, is literally impossible to dodge at max length. Theres been times where I'm preemptively flashed and still got hit before flashing.
Leveling a new account to play bot lane in, because 've been queuing fill for forever, and I noticed my winrate as bot and support is like 12% in 40 games...
Since when did you stop getting XP from Bots games? Wtf.
Is like 10 minute queue for either Blind Pick or ARAM and I'm only level 11.

It's also a nightmare for immobile champions. Try playing Jhin with him on the map, you have to flash every fight because he can reach you from over a screen away and his CC is too fast to dodge. Even someone like Lucian has to be super quick, because his CC is so fast that he can cancel you're E animation incredibly easily.

Yeah, that's why I still haven't fully leveled my smurf in over 4 years. I thought spamming ARAM would work because the games are normally short, but instead I wait 10-30 minutes and then the games are super slow (full of smurfs and legit new players means extremely passive play. Ashe did 500 dmg in a 20 minute game lol). You might be better off playing bot games (those still exist, right?). Also games where you get lv 10 players vs Diamond 1, and that wasn't just once...
Speaking of Yone its silly to me that the current plan is to not have him at Worlds. LEC and LCK haven't even started playoffs yet, or the LPL and LCK gauntlets, should be plenty of time to get him to a good spot for pros.

I don't get XP from bots games. Lol. Literally zero XP.
Perhaps it gets better once you have enough Champions for draft. Or maybe I should just buy a Smurf, they're like 3 dollars... But that's also clearly illegal. I guess other option would be maybe throwing a bunch of games on one of my two plat accounts, but in order to truely get to say low gold I likely have to ruin like 40 or 50 ranked games in a row. I guess I could also just pick cheese stuff like Heimerdinger and Swain, but I find ADC's really fun after lane phase and enchanters are fun.
It's just dumb, clearly my duo lane play is no where near platinum levels and is ruining games for my teammates the same way a Smurf would. I just want to practice it at an even skill level. For now I'm going to just keep spamming blind pick, and try to throw games to lower my queue times, currently the account is like 15-1 so maybe I'm just in the top percent or so of accounts.
I'm used to my 45s fill ranked queues, lol.

Reads to me like they know the Q and R speeds in addition to his E will lead to him being auto pick ban and the champion designer is set against changing it the same way the Taliyah guy was set against some of the QoL stuff they added like a year and a half after she'd been out.
I think they just accepted they can't fix Yone before Worlds. Correct me if I'm wrong but it was way too late to fix Pantheon before people realized he'll be a must ban at previous Worlds. They don't want to repeat the same mistake.
I see that, but worlds is a month away, with at minimum 3, maybe 4 tournaments across 3 regions that they COULD have gotten data from being LCK Playoffs LCK/LPL Gauntlets and potentially LEC playoffs. There's just no excuse to not do your job and make a champion not instant pick ban given a month. The extra week and a half that Lilia had over him shouldn't make some extreme difference
what amazes me more about riots balance team is that they released a champion knowing full well that its so busted it cant be used for worlds. how about not releasing it so busted in the first place? like wtf goes through the minds of these idiots. i mean i know riot has no integrity and they care about their revenue more but still, youre the developer of the biggest moba game in the world. it would be nice if riot actually gave a shit about balancing around the competitive scene for once
just read the patch notes. "while currently not overpowered". LUL

Draft is literally an hour the last time I leveled so I don’t see the buying champions idea as viable
Lol, I refunded Aphelios from a chest for BE, and bought all the 450 IP champions... started the draft queue and went about my day, running errands.
I forgot about it, and I'm literally still in queue for draft after coming back over 12 hours later.
lol wtf.

Maybe the winrate stats dont say he is OP, but like... Nothing an ADC can do to not get blown up by Yone. Less copunterplay than say Zed or Yasuo.

That number boggles my mind. Did you're computer go into sleep mode? Maybe that hangs the client, idk. But sub lv 30 queues are stupidly long, and probably drive away a lot of new players.

It's easier to balance a champion that's too strong and sees a lot of play, than a champion that (at first impression) sucks and sees little play. They have more data, and it's simple to remove stats/small abilities on champions. I don't disagree too much with the philosophy, except that it is very unfun seeing a new champion in ranked stomping everyone because nobody knows their kit.
Riot is so slow with the nerfs on some of the newer champs though. Yone nerf this patch is tiny, and doesn't address any of his real problems. It took Riot months to nerf Pantheon, Akali and Aatrox to acceptable levels, and I imagine it will happen here too. Aphelios and Senna are still enjoying fairly good kits. As said above, nobody wants to see a new champion perma banned at Worlds again.
No, PC wasn't ever Idle, i was running an FEA study on my second graphics card and cores 6 through 11, then streaming hockey through my PC to my TV the rest of the time.

this is a pretty weak justification for their balancing methods. isnt the whole reason for the existence of pbe to test things? honestly it doesnt take a lot of games of yone to see whats wrong with him. they have enough data from pbe games to see what the capabilities of the champion is, and the skill level of pbe games is pretty irrelevant. it only takes a few games of playing yone yourself to see what hes good and bad at also, and if the developers havent done this or dont realise the problems then this only highlights their incompetence further. theres also a big difference between new champions being unfun to play against because you dont know wtf their skills are vs you know exactly what their skills are but cant do anything against it. yone falls into the latter category. his skills arent that complex, theyre just too easy to execute for almost no risk and theres nothing the opponents can do about it.
PBE is a joke, Diamond MMR there is like Silver on any normal server. PBE is more to test for game breaking bugs, and collect final user experience on possible changes (outside of internal testing, which is done with high elo feedback) on a big scale. It is an abysmal test of actual balance, imo you are overestimating how useful it is for that kind of stuff.
I am pretty sure that Riot knew even before PBE how strong Yone was. But we've also speculated endlessly on this site (and ofc, Reddit geniuses as well) that Riot's business model also comes into play when shaping the meta: new champions are always at the edge of power creep because it keeps the game fresh and new, so people keep coming.
They really just need to make buying 10 champions the barrier to playing ranked / with level 30s
It’s not really preventing people from unbanning themselves or smurfing as is. Although the argument is kinda hard to make because if you don’t get picked up by the smurf filter the experience 1-30 is probably fine

not really because what yones flaws are arent his stats but his inherent design. the way his skills are utilised and interact with the game is broken, and that doesnt take a lot of games between high elo players to tell. if we assume that game balancing can be done by changing either numbers or skill design, the latter doesnt need good players to be tested. pbe is more than enough to show that yone has way too much range, way too much safety and way too little risk. if it was a simple matter of his base damage numbers being too high or too low then higher elo games become relevant because the limits of the champion get tested better there. with yone currently this isnt the case
This isn’t a Riot specific problem pbe is always for bugs only. The number of things that we told Blizzard shouldn’t go live back in the day.
ICC pbe hey uh mut rogue does ~150% the dps of any other class. Goes live, people regear /regem as arp is insane on combat and useless for mut., less than a week later hotfix mut into oblivion hopefully you didn’t de your arp gear .
You can literally Q3flash even if you miss or the ADC flashes to guarantee your Q3 hits. It's even more broken than I thought. I got banned from the Yone subreddit for mentioning this. Lol. Apparently that's trolling
His R I feel after playing with it is less broken than I thought it was, it has a fairly long cast time, but the initialization animation is much more subtle than I'd like. This is dodge able if you're posting attention I think.
His Lane phase feels kind of bad, but honestly he's pretty much Karthus given his EQ3R range. Guaranteed to be fed in most games.
I think his damage is fine even after the nerf, tbh. If anything I think you could buff it once you Nerf Q3 speed.
Samira looks to have Aphelios tier ability complexity. At least from reading the descriptions. And an ability to deny missiles is sketchy, it's not a windwall it surrounds he entire character, so you can't outplay it. Incredibly dumb mechanic imo.
How is this supposed to be an interesting and/or a competitive rank game? And I have plenty of these for the last several months. The rank (skill gap) varies from silver to plat 3 and its not about the "real" mmr in the back, I see how they play, most of them are true to their rank and it sucks. In plenty of games I am the "beneficiary" of being plat and playing vs (I am kidding you not) a bronze in my lane. It was several games ago and he was really bronze, maybe silver, cant tell the difference. I stopped playing to rank up few seasons ago, so, I just want 30-40% of my games to be interesting, I dont enjoy stomping bronze players. If I wanted this I ll go normal or at least Flex. Not sure what is going on honestly, but not even 5% of my games this season are interesting and the dumbest part is that I almost dont get any griefers, afkers etc., its just an enormous individual gaps throughout every game
p.s. Just remembered that last week I had a game vs 4 silvers and a gold 2 while we were 2 plats and 3 golds - all of our golders were at least 3 or above
Multiple dashes -> Yasuo's Windwall -> Fiora's reposte -> mobile Katarina&MF ults -> Range and Melee in one -> By your powers combined, I am Captain Samira!
Never underestimate power creep in this game. Expecting the next champ to have a global auto attack, 8 abilities and a passive which heals you when you move.
