Better than nothing

I will be watching who jaedong will face in the finals!
hahahaha yeah. I actually like these 2, but I don't think Jangbi has much chance. Kal is a practice monster.
Yeah i don't care if the OP isn't that good aslong as there is no other op around this one will have to do. Kal Fighting!!!!!!!!!

Not exactly dominant. Jangbi's only MU worth calling "dominant" is his PvT.
live reports welcome as I'm at school like every day (poop-_-)..
Yes, live reports will be great.
Jangbi 2 gate into expo at the gas expanion
Kal 1 gate into expo at the gas expansion too.
Beautiful storm drop by Kal at Jangbi's nat, loses both HT and shuttle though.butt load of dragoons for both players.
Battle going on. Kal getting owned by Reaver. Loses a lot of goons.
u gonna see what is PvP macro !! gogo jangbi !!!
..and I almost lose my stream.
Kal with the Tech lead, Archives just being built for Jangbi. Around 7 Gates for Jangbi though. REAVER DROP!! on Kal, loses a few probes.
nice game so far
Kal still losing goons unnecessarily to Reavers.
STORM DROP AGAIN BY KAL. BIG BATTLE KAL LOSING MORE GOONS.
Nice storms by Kal holds Jangbi off for the moment.
Come on Kal, prove the wins against Anytime, Stork and Much weren't just for show.
Looks like 2 or more ctrl groups of Goons and Zeals for Jangbi, not to mention a few HT's and his reavers. Kal not vastly outnumbered.
Another battle BAD POSITION FOR JANGBI, losing zeals to storms.
JANGBI loses his shuttle + reavers trying to drop Kal's expo.
come on jang !! u just got to be wise !!! dont loose fuckin shuttles !!
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh !! nice storms!!!
love this map fot PvP
good game !
Here comes another drop from Jangbi. Storm drop takes out 4 or 5 probes. Kal at 4 base, Jangbi with 5. BIG BATTLE ZEALS DYING LIKE FLIES, KAL LOSING EVERYTHING EXCEPT THREE GOONS.
Fail storm drop by Jangbi again.
Jangbi playing really well gogog

This is turning out to be a very good game. These guys got some top notch PvP.
Reminds me of Bisu vs Stork finals.

Jangbi was purple in his first person view???

Where ur stasis now sucka??
Stargate just building for Jangbi.
OMG. Kal loses Arbiter. Loses everything again except three goons.
On February 26 2008 19:02 sage_francis wrote:Failed ??!!!
Yup. Lost two HT's for only like 2 or 3 probes.
damn !! mastering storm !!
STASIS on 6 goons and a few zeals.
Kal still losing anyway. Jangbi's MACRO IS AMAZING.
Russian Federation4333 Posts
Kal is not Bisu. Jangbi wins the battle despite stasis.
Kals's 6 about to die.
Kal's bottom right about to go down
Jangbi, where the hell was this against Forgg? Ah well, at least he is playing better.
Zeal reinforcement for Kal, still lost his 6 expo. Looking bad for Kal, eventhough he has Arbiter tech.
Jangbi going for Kal's 5 expo. It's gone.
I told everyone that JangBi is hot. He deserves to be in semis.. Was no luck that he beat UpMagic 3-0.
Hopefully we'll see another four good games.
gg! jangbis macro is too much for him! jangbi plays like free !
Jesus even though I don't really fancy Jangbi I have to remind myself next time to not vote against him if I want to earn points and not loose them. Damn...
Commentators showing replays:
Kal's reinforcements were always late due to unit AI. Grouping up or HT's in the way of Goons and Archons.
jangbi seems to be a player who's fighting himself more often than his opponent
Game 2 starting on Zodiac

Game 2 Starting Zodiac:
Goojilla at 9 Jangbi at 6.

with one solid MU i dont think he deserve even to get out of MST group, but it seems like he had time to prepare and made a giant leap with his development... perhaps he had practice with Stork for this MU... Anyway I still think Kal will make it tru, he is just the better player in every aspect

of course he is!!! i was very impressed the 1st time i saw him in a proleague superfight if i remember. He played a huge macro game vs free. Then, he started bad results in proleague :/ But despite a weak mental, hes very very good !
1 gate gas for both players.
Jangbi with faster core. Both scouting in wrong direction.
ya all of these wins are good for jangbi who had needed to build confidence
Goon range spinning at core for Jangbi.
2 gates now for Kal, kills Jangbi's scout probe.
JangBi vs Mind... sounds like suuuchhh a lame finals I'm sorry :-) LOL its true. Jaedong vs a protoss sounds more fun I suppose, though be it Kal or JangBi, I think both Mind or Jaedong will 3-0 them nice and easy... only the maps can give them a mercy game.

He has 65% vs T. He has 20% vs P. (LOL, how... his PvP is awesome) He has 45-50% vs Z.
How is that only 1 good match up? Its not top notch but he sure deserves to be in the semis.
Robo bay for Kal. Still not getting Goon range.
Jangbi not teching, as far as i can tell.
[EDIT]
woops, Robo bay also for Jangbi. Support bay done for Kal, no support bay yet for Jangbi. Shuttle already out for Kal, waiting for Reaver.

wasnt that Kal, who has 70% vZ ?! If Jaedong has to face Kal in the final it wont be so easy for the Legend Killer

If Jaedong / Mind think they way you do and take Kal/JangBi easy they will probably get smashed. You should never take an opponent lightly, even if I think the same way about Jaedong raping 3-0. Mind could lose though.

Kal has 70% vs Terran too.

Expo for Jangbi at 5, Expo for Kal at 7.
Jangbi snipes Kal's Reaver. Kal still barging in Jangbi's base. Jangbi pulling probes. Loses all goons and Zeals. Bad spawn for Jangbi's reaver loses it immediately. GG by Jangbi.

You cant say anything about JangBi skills having in mind this tournament because he played mostly with terrans... and take a look of Kal's stats it was smth like 70% vZ, 65% vT, 40% vP... thats more like champion' stats

That was just pure BO rape. Perfect timing by Kal.

lol. I didn't think Jangbi scouted after losing his initial scouting probe. Kal got an obs out early scouting an expo being built. Kal rushed in knowing he had more units, plus a reaver.

Now thats the JangBi I know and love.
Um Jangbi died hard? What?

u cant say a player doesnt deserve his spot in a starleague semi final !!! its not fair !! its so harrd !!

cuz neither Mind nor Jaedong needs to spare time to preparing for OSL/GSI, these two toss have no chance at MSL title.

I agree, those are some very bold predictions. I'd say that mind would win against any protoss unless that P steps his game up something fierce. I wouldn't say that Jaedong would 3-0 any protoss though, his steamroll seems to be broken by Flash. I predict a final that goes 3-2 to Kal against jaedong.

Yes, but soon or later in some state of the tournament you have to 3:0 the Maestro, 2:1 the Legend Killer, 3:1 the Revolutionist... I just cant imagine how JangBi would do such a thing

WAY TO PULL A MUCH KAL Kal, with a huge advantage, allows his units to follow Jangbi's down the 2nd nat ramp and get completely raped, failing to kill the nexus dispite having a good unit advantage at first. Much did the same thing against Bisu in the GOMTV semi against Bisu.

Jangbi is just outplaying Kal in this series. He steamrolled him in the 2 straight up games while loosing in a bo game. Jangbi must have been trained hard by stork or somehting. Top notch PvP in games 1 and 3. I really hope he advances.

Constant worker production (when warranted...you do NOT always make workers thoughout the whole game), optimum expansion timing (as soon as safely possible + you have the workers to quickly fill the expo) and fast as possible unit production timing are very very important. These are just the basics though, and the details of each are high dependent on map.

If Jangbi advances along with Jedong, Jaedong is a heavy favourite to win MSL. If Kal advances, he has a very good chance of winning the MSL with his PvZ. I am getting worried here.

In mirror matches I feel that TvT is the most strategical, with unit positioning and attack timing + element of surprise being a key factor. ZvZ seems to come down to who has the better unit control and low eco play. PvP I'm not sure about, but it seems like macro is the key to winning a good midlength-long game. In PvP there seems to be a tipping point that is very fragile. Once one player falls a little bit behind because of mismanaging a key battle, it's hard for him to come back.
cmon jangbi, win me the 5 points, screw the haters >.< !!

Theres actually a great deal of strategy in ZvZ among the players who really understand the matchup, because in extremely low eco play (which is basically ZvZ) every single decision and timing really counts.

You can make that argument if you choose to totally neglect this seasons proleague matches, and ignore the fact that these players actually came as far as they did in MSL due to horribly imbalanced maps. If so; sure then I agree with your logic.
Also theres quite the skillgap between these two players despite Kal only winning 3-2.

To further my Kal is like a Protoss version of Mind analogy I first made in last month's power rank:
In winning the last MSL, Mind got out of the group stage 2-1, the Ro8 3-1 against a Terran (Memory), and the Ro4 3-2 in a matchup people thought he wasn't good at at the time. He then beat a huge favorite.
Kal got out of the group stage 2-1, the Ro8 3-1 against a Terran (Light), and the Ro4 3-2 in a matchup that he isn't seen as good at presently. He then... ???
Also: they're both pretty ugly.
Oh snap, Kal's going to pull a Mind (except he's already done well in Proleague, but it's not his fault the timing was off!). >.>

kal is ready for his first title and I hate to say it but if he fails some of you will say "You saw Kal, he is a loser, he dont deserve to be a champion" but if he still win the reason will most likely be "the slumpy" play of his big-name-opponent. Kal really deserve much credit , I dont know why many just deny it ! He is not just decent- he is great ! Even if he lose the final , which is likely to happen he'll still be great! Kal should be taken very seriously , he is not a one-hit-wonder and he will prove it! Go get them Goojila you know the score !

Jangbi and Kal are two the of the most underrated protoss gamers I'd say.
To be honest I'd say Kal has a damn good chance of winnings this MSL, even if JaeDong makes it to finals.

I hate to sound like I am trolling but
specialolympics.jpeg
You know the one "It doesn't matter who wins they are both losers"
The winner of the other semi-final will own + Show Spoiler +kal, Mind is just too consistent and Jaedong seems to only lose to Flash and thats only half the time.
I'd put Kal as the favorite against Mind- they're both consistent and not very spectacular, but Kal just has a bit more oomph than Mind (also, maps). I'd consider Kal a slight underdog against Jaedong, not nearly as much of a mismatch as most people think. And pending maps he might even be a small favorite.

Due to the maps Kals chances are decent against both players despite them being better than him overall. If he were to play Jaedong it would be his best MU against Jaedongs weakest. Jaedong would have to play like he did the last two matches vs Stork in the OSL final, and like he did vs Bisu earlier in the MSL to win against Kal on these maps. I still feel Jaedong hasnt semented himself as a great ZvP player yet despite showing alot of promise in the mentioned matches. Kal holds a strong 70% PvZ, against Jaedongs 55% ZvP, and eventhough Kal has played many chumps in PL, I consider his PvZ top 3 along with Bisu and free.
Mind would be the favorite on other maps, his mech play is outstanding and hes impressed me alot in his recent TvPs; the one against Anytime in the tiebreakers in GSI was epic even though he lost. Theres still not enough matches by him in TvP to conclude him a master in that MU though. That being said I think Kal needs to play his best, and some luck to win against Mind. Im quite sure Jaedong is going to knock out the GadgetTerran though.
Meh Kal's a good chance vs Mind, but LJD will tear him a new one imo.

I don't think so. Kal's PvZ>>>Kal's PvT Mind's TvP>>>JD's ZvP
therefore, I think Kal would do better vs JD than he would vs Mind.
