My spider sense tells me this is too many people. >_< That being said, it is a nice mix of old and new.

I was worried this wasnt going to be made :O
thanks semioldguy!
|
i see a whole list of scary terrans
|
yay so definately watching this. Predictions: Mind probably wants a group of death to prove himself further. There is a high possibility he wants Jaedong for his group. Maybe Sea or Hwasin as well.
Bisu also probably wants a group of death. Im thinking he wants Anytime or maybe even Hwasinsurance.
sAviOr most likely wants a Terran or an OGN twin. Probably gonna choose Flash, oOv, or Yeller.
Xellos and Memory gonna pick up Terrans like Shine and FBh for their groups.
I see rA choosing Up or July for his group
Free gonna try to grab some zergs most likely Gorush or Jaedong.
Lastly, I think Kwanro gonna play somewhat safe with Light who he already beat last season.
|
Bisu vs Jaedong
Savior vs Nada
|
sAviOr'll choose Ruby, FBH and Gorush

I "think" they are trying a new format of selection this season;
+ Show Spoiler [Big post] +
1-8 are self-explained, 9-32 are based on how well those players have done in past MSL's, I think.
9 picks one spot, then 10, all the way to 32. Then the steal draft happens.
I stress again though, this is what I think, not the truth.

of the little gorush did talk about the other players, he said that the F group isn't going to get very much attention among starcraft fans, because he and nal_ra doesn't have as much tv time lately. Nal_ra came back with how he's playing televised matches all the time, and then went on to talk playfully about how he doesn't even know what team gorush is on, because gorush's lack of games.

non seeds - gets to pick who they want to play from seeds
seeds from survivor (based on msl appearances) - gets to swap themselves or their opponent
seeds from last msl (3-8) - gets to do 2x swaps (i think players in their group with other)
finalists from last msl - ??? - profit

The most hilarious dialogue.
Translated from FiFo:
In response to Oov's complaint that GoRush never treated his teammates to food, GoRush replies, "I may have never spent money for Oov but I've treated many of my teammates to lunch or dinner". Then July comes in and says that GoRush never treated him either, to which GoRush replies "You need to starve".
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAA

At end of program(staff roll), GoRush said to July, "You're hearing crying of pig.",(a bit later) "You're watching talking pig." July said, "I hope to touch(beat) him, but he is senior."

loul. romanians.
Bisu's group is gay. I was reading how players switched players, and in the end.. all I have to say is I hope July crushes Bisu. I believe in July. The man has been MIA too long. The original God Zerg will crush this MSL... but so much ZvZ T.T

I did and I still think Bisu is going to wreck Jaedong
edit: Thoughts on groups- A-I thought Mind wanted a group to prove himself yet has two new zergs and the strongest TvT player atm. I've seen zero play but not hogil. Sea and Mind are both awesome at the moment so they should definately pass through. I expect Sea at #1 in group and Mind at 2.
B- O god this is probably the strongest group out there yet there are only going to be 2 mus. PvZ and ZvZ. Within the group is the strongest PvZer and the strongest ZvZer. Even though Jaedong should get out at number 2, I think July will take that spot with Bisu as 1.
C- This is going to be sAviOr and Anytime with a possible upset from Ruby. It isn't fall anymore so we will just have to wait and see what comes of Anytime.
D- FBH is probably still being pissed on by the broodwar gods and Jangbi doesn't look very strong. Xellos showed some strong play last season so he and Hwasin will make it through.
E- I dont know bout this. Lux cuz he is pretty strong ZvT and ForGG cuz I feel like it.
F- This will be Gorush and Light. Light is playing pretty well lately and Gorush...ummm... ya. I don't even remember Gorush playing in the last month or so.
G- Free is still playing strong and his only real threat is Flash. Since there are two spots, both of them will advance. I think Flash at 2 and Free at 1.
H- I see a terran duo advancing. Canata may not be the Terran powerhouse everyone expected of him, but he still plays well. NaDa has been winning a few games recently and that is a good sign that he will be coming out of his slump again. NaDa at 1 and Canata at 2.

Before Bisu was 3-1'ed by Mind and 3-0'd by Stork. Unless his PvZ still stays intact. However, I think Jaedong has practiced his ZvP a ton, and it looked alot better in the OSL finals than it did when he played Stork earlier.

Its common knowledge Bisu has the best PvZ in the progaming, and the way he dismantled Savior puts all doubts away of Jaedong not being torn into shreds.

You can always watch it again on Gom Player, as they save their videos.
Channel 403 on Gom, it's the only thing there under this season's MSL.

Kind of pissed at Mind for choosing such an easy group for himself, but at least it gives Sea a chance to advance. It was kind of smart to switch the stronger Zergs to Bisu so there will be fewer Z left later on.
Group B is going to be fun, as will Group D. Hoping for Bisu + Jaedong and Hwasin + FBH (you can say what you may about FBH, but he does keep things lively).
I also feel that the MSL starter line-up just consists of too many people. Looking at these names, it's like half of them belong to B-class players and the word "cannon fodder" instantly comes to mind.... pun not intented.

omg..... anytime vs savior... i long to see this game. has anytime ever played savior yet?
|
bisu is going to absolutely drub JD.. his DT/reaver harass is on another level, and if stork didn't suck against zerg/play scared in the osl final--peoples opinion of Jaedong wouldn't be so grandiose. honestly.. after he trounces Jaedong what more will he have to prove??? bisu = new boxer. he's a true champion.
period

Anytime is such a mediocre player I don't want to see Savior rape him
|
I agree Bisu will dominate Jaedong, and I'm looking forward to the zerg pain

Both July and Jaedong are gonna rape Bisu.
You heard it here first. :p

If I had to rank the players in order of their likelihood to win this season's MSL (Kind of like Hotbid's TLFE article last season) I'd put it as:
32 - 30. SangHo, ZerO, Orion 29 - 25. JangBi, HoGiL, RuBy, Memory, Shine 24 - 22. Canata, fOrGG, Kal 21 - 19. Kwanro, YellOw[NamE], Luxury 18 - 16. Nal_rA, Flash, UpMagiC 15. GoRush 14. July 13. firebathero 12. free 11. Oov 10. XellOs 9. NaDa 8. Anytime 7. Light 6. Hwasin 5. Sea 4. sAviOr 3. Mind 2. Jaedong 1. Bisu
But, to be honest, it's really impossible to predict, since we haven't seen the brackets for the RO16 yet. It's fun speculating though. ;o
And, also, in Hotbid's preview for the last OSL, the eventual winner was actually ranked in the last echelon, so take all these predictions with a grain of salt. Still, you have to admit that this season's player-pool has fewer unknown players than last season's.

i think flash should be above xellos and nada. and free up there with light.

I think Bisu's group is the most interesting again. Last year it was him vs terrans now vs zergs. This MSL is looking a lot more interesting than the OSL if you guys saw some of the creampuffs that made OSL.

The OSL is only half full, there are still eight players left to get spots.

What more will he have to prove? He'll have to prove that his pvp and pvt can still get the job done.

The VODs are up on Jon747 account on YouTube but I don't think there's any point in watching unless you can understand Korean. It's quite entertaining if you can understand what they're saying.

*yawn*
look at him when he plays top caliber opponents. Come on, practicing for PL and for Starleagues are completely different things.
I'm still in shock people put him as a chance of beating Savior who STILL has the best ZvP by miles.

i know he will obviously have to prove that if he wants another title.. i simply was referring to his status as a true champion since he already has multiple titles and wins on the biggest stage against the toughest competition. now, he calls out jaedong in the round of 32, and will more than likely demolish him. alot of people also believe jaedong to be hottest SC programmer out right now.. i'm saying after that he's nothing left to prove. titles, big victories, most consistent performer (other than boxer) in the big-games..
bisu is a true champion: people practice so much to attain what bisu already has...
|
I don't like Bisu much, but I don't think he will lose a game in his group. Jaedong is good, but Bisu's harass is ridiculous. He takes the best players and makes them react only to what he wants in that mu. July probably won't win a single game -_- He has shown no signs of life in the a long time, and Jaedong is too good at ZvZ. Should be Bisu at 1 and Jae at 2. But I seriously doubt those zerg's will dethrone Bisu from his PvZ throne, even though he lost his most recent PvT and PvP.
I'm also disappointed Savior & FBH probably won't meet up. God I hate FBH after that ceremony.
|
yeah seriously.. savior deserves another crack at firebathero, game 5:cheese build then a cheesier dance. what an arrogant little boy. if they both make it out of the round of 32 would they play in ro16 or would they have to further qualify? they are in groups C and D.. but im not sure how the seedings would affect round matchups

bisu ftw

A mediocre player, by definition, would play like the average player. Anytime is a star league winner and he's been playing consistently well (as you can see from the stats). If you check TLPD, he's ranked #4 on the current ELO points. He's not the absolute best but he's definitely well above average. How can you say that he's a mediocre player?

For how long has Bisu been consistent? What has he been consistent at? He certainly hasn't dominated like nada, oov, and savior have. And why do you think boxer is the most consistent performer?
Considering that Bisu hasn't won an OSL and his proleague record sucks I would say he has quite a bit left to prove.
And say it with me now: "progamer"
|
lol, yeah progamers-programmers whatever.. u knew what i meant. dismantling of savior in msl finals? who was the last person to repeat in the msl or osl? ..o yeah bisu. the msl and osl are hardly different, just different sponsors.. the players are the same, and they are all coming from the same progaming pool so dont act like one title is more prestigious than the other. anyway if stork doesnt stop bisu in ro4 he cakewalks all over jaedong in the finals. nada, oov, savior alright all true champions in their own respect, but what does that have to do w/ bisu's recent rise and status as one? are u saying he is not a true champion, who doesnt perform when the pressure is on? please.. he is one or two more titles from "dominating" like the other progamers u mentioned.. plus he's relatively new to the gaming scene so id say he's accomplished a hell of alot in a very short time.
as for boxer.. if he wasnt taken away from gaming in his prime--much like ali in boxing--im willing to bet nada, oov (whom he mentored), and saviors wouldn't have won as many titles as boxer. nada, oov, and savior have gotten an extra 2 YRS of fulltime gaming/training while he's been in ACE-limbo. he will comeback and prove it anyway

And than gorush says he bought everyone food in skt1 besides for oov and i think than july gave him a weird stare and than gorush says you need to starve haha.

Hi, are you new? OSL is more prestigious.
anyway if stork doesnt stop bisu in ro4 he cakewalks all over jaedong in the finals.
That's speculation, and hasty speculation at that.

If you're going to claim that Bisu is the most consistent player next to Boxer (boxer? hahaha), you have to explain the three most dominant players in SC's history.
Nada, oov, and savior were able to win multiple MSLs and all got at least one OSL win. And they all did so while posting absolutely stellar statistics. With the exception of his pvz, Bisu just doesn't compare to them.

Are you fucking kidding?
1. Boxer didn't get his draft letter until August 2006. 2. Boxer's prime ended by 2003.

2 Zergs in rA's group doubt he advance then :/
|
ra only has 1 zerg, and its gorush whos zvp has been bad lately and its not like ra's pvz is bad anyway if he plays well, although thats a big if recently, he has a good shot at advancing

I've never seen anyone shut down so dominantly. Sorta like the 3-0 Rape Bisu recieved from Stork.

shit i didnt want july to get stuck with a zvz those are always up for grabs and can go either way

Unless Jaedong's playing, in which case the winner is already decided
