Jaedong is definitely enjoying the K League with much better results. And when he's in the same team with Mini, it's very obvious thay they're gonna win.

Proleague today is the stage of the Terran players really. 11 games with Terran and the only 3 times they lost were from... TvT. Look at set 2: Royal with 3 kills, stopped by Rush (4 kills), stopped by Light (2 kills). In the end, Team A got 2 Terrans, so they won.

The lack of available spots in MPL means some big names have to drop down to KL, although not sure with this line up it's really a KL

This time the stats of Proleague in August arrived just in time before ASL Ro16, although based on past (and also recent) experiences it means nothing for the upcoming offline games really...

Note: if you check the stats on eloboard the values will be slightly different to here, that's because the records in this table are counted from only games between these players themselves, whether they played each other in Major Proleague or K-League. This is to reduce K-League inflation.

First off, if anyone is wondering why Mind has been absent from Proleague for two months, the answer is yes, he hasn't played any Proleague since June. In fact he hasn't streamed at all since June. The guy is still recovering from a break up with his long term girlfriend and the only time he publicly showed up in the last two months was the group nomination where he was obliged to go. How he will perform in two days time is unclear but I guess it's safe to say he's not secretly practicing offstream.

Back to the ranking. Guess who are the top 2 players? Well you got it right: it's Snow and Light (again!). The two of them have occupied both the no.1 and 2 spots on this table 4 times in the previous 8 months, with Snow himself taking the top spot for the 5th time and for 3 consecutive months up to now. It really sucks that they both went out of ASL thanks to BO1.

Funnily, it should also be noted that even Snow has the best win rate among these players, he (along with Soulkey) earned the least per game. Just look at Light who played almost the same number of games and has the same win rate, he almost tripled the earnings of Snow. And it was the same story last month as well! Poor (pun not intended) Snow just happened to be in the winning side when funding was low and be in the losing side when funding was high. Even in online Proleague, losing when it matters the most seems to be his trade eh?

Now guess who are the 3rd and 4th players? I'm sorry but however you might have guessed you'd probably be wrong, because it's Best and JYJ - the two players at the absolute bottom of the July table with less than 30% win rate. They have bounced back strongly with almost 60% win rate in August. What has gotten into them?

For JYJ, the explanation is quite easy if you dig deep into his games in August. He played TvP way less times than TvZ in August, so his 25% win rate in TvP is offset by the amount of times he beat Zergs this month (especially Queen lol). The kind of luck that led him to his first ASL title and who knows if it could happen again. As for Best, it's simply just a flip in form. He had good results in all 3 matchups (even PvP) this month and also with 2 all-kills, although 1 was done in a hybrid proleague. Nevertheless, it's good to see the two seeds of this ASL get into good form just in time for Ro16.

Next in line are the usual suspects: Soma Rush and Soulkey - all with strong performance in August. In my opinion these 3 are the real front runners for the ASL champion spot this season, knowing that Snow and Light are already out, JYJ needs matchup luck and Best will choke.

Now, Mr. K-League Effort taking the 8th spot in this table even with K-League inflation removed is a bit of a surprise to me, even after his strong performance in the Ro24. But after digging into his games, we can see that he beat Shuttle 6-1 in Proleague in August - and that in itself is kind of an inflation since no other player in this table had the luxury of "farming" Shuttle as much. Nevertheless, even without that he's still comfortably a mid-tier player in Major Proleague.

After the hot stuff in July when he was in the top 3, Hero's form has cooled off a little bit, now sitting at 49.1%. Meanwhile, Royal being consistently "mid-table" once again at 51.4%. But talk about mid-table, Mini has now been there for the 5th month in a row, just hovering above and below that 50% threshold all the time. Well, at least he has recovered a bit from the abysmal form at the start of August when he saw just around 30% win rate.

sSak and Rain just did not play much this month, possibly because of their early exit from ASL. Damn shame because otherwise we would have seen much more from Rain. Now he's back to being casual again.

Queen has more often than not been found at the bottom part of the Major Proleague table this year, and August is not an exception. In fact, 40% is his worst record this year as well. Maybe his early exit from ASL is not that big of a surprise. Meanwhile, Sharp, also at 40%, is just a good reflection of his power compared to the MPL players.

Bisu (41%) and Jaedong (37%) both saw abysmal form this month after their trip to Saudi Arabia (although in the case of Bisu it's just two games swing for him to get back to 50% - so maybe just a case of not playing enough). What happened there really?

Finally. Shuttle being Shuttle with just 30% win rate and finishing bottom of the table. In other news, water is wet.

very interesting - Snow being the best player in terms of winrate has one of the lowest eranings, and the biggest earner is Mini who is not even above 50%

Eloboard didn't exist at the time for us to have a look at the complete stats but I vaguely remember that Flash didn't dominate Proleague as much as we would think. His win rate at best was probably similar to peak Snow/Light this year.
And Larva was similar to Queen/Hero/Soulkey now.

Yeah Effort has always been active in Proleague (if not the most active lol) but he chooses to play mostly in K-League. K-League also plays daily but I updated it less frequently though (only when the line-up is interesting)

Actually I take this back. Just had a look at Mini's archive of Proleague back in 2020 when Flash was still playing and out of the 10 games I counted Flash had lost none. He probably had months with 100% win rate lol.

Flash was very dominant but the meta was also stagnant back then. We don't know how he'd fare in today's meta. probably still dominant, but as dominant?

Snow proved to be to imba for Team B. Meanwhile, Jaedong is 2-11 this month since he came back to MPL. Back to KL soon?

It's just bizarre for Snow who was on 5W 0L today, beating all the "harder" opponents like Soma and Light, only to lost two consecutive PvP against opponents he should beat like Bisu and Shuttle (and it's the super ace!), via unnecessarily risky builds nonetheless. Anyway he's still at 81% currently this month in MPL. But at the other end of the spectrum, Jaedong win rate has dropped to a meager 14%.
