Rogues Gallery
Saturday, Sep 12 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)
BACKGROUND
Considered a bit of a backwater in the professional StarCraft scene, North America has long been home to a few big names with even bigger personalities. Far from the spotlights of Starleagues, Rogues Gallery is excited to bring you an event with all the panache and professionalism of a back room poker game. Foul Play NA is a showmatch series that will pit kingpins of North American StarCraft against each other in a cutthroat struggle for street cred (and the winner's share of the purse). Step through the unmarked back alley door, pull up a chair at the bar, and enjoy the show.

PLAYERS
BoA DragOn
BoA DragOn
BoA
Coming into his match last week as a dark horse, BoA quickly ran away with the series in a 3-0 victory over StRyKeR. He showed a strong command of multiple different strategies, with no holes that his opponent was able to exploit, in a convincing victory. While his PvZ captured the hearts of fans, it may also have attracted the attention of prospective rivals who now have game footage of three different builds to analyze. The true test for BoA will be whether his dominance holds up to competitive scrutiny now that he’s the man to beat.
DragOn
His challenger this time around is NAS clan leader and longtime NA kingpin DragOn. DragOn’s experience in competitive Brood War spans almost a decade including a 4th place finish in TLS 3 all the way back in 2013. More recently he’s competed in all three installments of TDR’s NASL, coming second in the most recent tournament. As a race-picker who opts to play ZvP over PvP, DragOn has extensive experience with both sides of this matchup. With the benefit of some recent VODs and almost two weeks to prepare, expect to see some creativity from the crafty veteran.

When taken in for questioning, the rogues of North America had this to say in their pre-game interviews...
BoA
It seems like you're getting a bit more active and participating in more events recently, both playing in these showmatches and participating in the BSL10 ladder stage. How do you feel about your experience in foreign events so far?
I didn't know there were that many tournaments outside Korea but I'm glad BW tournaments are still going and I feel honored to be a part of it.
You mentioned in your winner's interview that the games vs Stryker, while seemingly one sided, were quite challenging. How are you feeling going into another PvZ bo5 vs Dragon? Do you have any previous experience vs him? What are your expectations?
I've played him before @ NASL and he's a solid player. I guess I have to focus on my strategy and not fall for his tricks.
Aside from Stryker and Dragon, do you feel like you have any particular rivals in North America? Anyone you face often on ladder, have particular trouble with, or just think is a very strong player in general?
To be honest, I haven’t played against many Americans so I'm not sure, but I think Cross is a great player and very strong.
DragOn
Hi, please introduce yourself for those who don’t know you yet.
Hi I'm DragOn[NaS] and I lead Team NaS, Team Canada, (ex) Team Drag. I'm a Protoss/Zerg racepicker from Canada.
What are your feelings about the upcoming match?
My feelings on the match are that it might be harder this second time around since I faced BoA in NASL. I’ve heard a rumor that he is practicing with Soma personally...? We will see though.
North America has long been home to a few big names with even bigger personalities: a gallery of “rogues,” if you will. In what ways do you identify as a “rogue” of North American Brood War?
My biggest "rogue" trait is probably my refusal to submit to the will of Blizzard matchmaking and play one race. I've been playing ZvP, PvZ, and PvT for years. Those are the matchups I like and the ones I know best. I'm often conflicted about whether to switch to full toss to get better practice, but so far I've just doubled down on race-picking, frustrating as it is. In most ways I strive to represent NA well though.
Will BoA continue his winning streak in the foreign scene?
Will DragOn's ZvP outmaneuver BoA's solid play?
Who will walk away the victor in this rematch of rogues?
