Show Match Epilogue
Showmatch is over and I'm planning another showmatch.
This show match started with a curiosity about how competitive the best foreign gamers can be against the best Korean gamers.
So I asked Korean gamers to play like they were playing at ASL, and they did their best.
With a score of 36:0, it was very hopeful that the show match was not over. Bonyth saved the foreign scene, and you can see why Bonyth is one of the best gamers.
I asked Rush, Snow, and Action which gamers were the most difficult to face.
Rush and Action chose Bonyth, and Snow chose Dewalt.
You can feel proud that these two men are active in the foreign scene.
During the show match, I received a lot of requests and confirmed various opinions.
Did you enjoy this ShowMatch? Would you like to watch more of this kind of showmatch?
Also, for this show match, Latin American fans recorded a rating of 1000++. Very fantastic data However, the number of English viewers did not exceed 200. Is there any special reason?
I want to hear your ideas. Of course, I won't accept 100% of your ideas, but if you have a good idea, I'll use that idea to plan a showmatch.
If you have any good ideas, please send me a message to my Discord ID.

Thank you very much for making these incredible games possible..Long live StarcastTv.
Regarding the number of viewers, it is simply that there are more Latin viewers than Europeans. To give you an example in the final of BSL11, the official channel in English (Zzzero) reached a peak of 1100 viewers, while Deathfate and Olipatrick reached 2350 and 2500+ at their peak.

Am from Europe, CET+1 Broadcasts generally started at 4am for me, so that's a bit hard to watch. I did watch the recordings, but no way to see that live.

Yes! Thank you !
Couldn't watch the games live because it was in the middle of the night, here in Romania
But I've searched for the games (a lot!!! cuz I am no good at searching !) and found them !

Yep, I wanted to watch live but the time made it impossible, and then I usually accidentally spoiled the results for myself before I could watch VODs.

1. Could never watch live because the broadcast started late at night for me, as was the case for all of Europe. That said I really enjoyed it, it's so seldom to see the best koreans square off against foreigners.
2. I think the showmatch was amazing precisely because the players were playing (for the most part) seriously. Do not change that!
3. I would *love* to see another iteration, pretty much in the same format. What I would change is always give the map pick to the foreigner, to give them a slight boost in non-mirror MUs.

Enjoyed this series.
I would think it would be more fun and competitive if the level of koreans was a notch below.

I also did really enjoy this series, but didn't catch any of the games live. Just didnt really keep track of when the games were played and it's easier to fit them into my own schedule when watching them later.
I think I can agree with pretty much everything True_Spike has said

I would like to add to this - I have heard from a number of sources (both on TL and elsewhere in the BW community) that at the same time that Korea was having its technological infrastructure boom in the 90s, countries like Peru were experiencing a similar thing in South America. There were netcafes, gaming was becoming a safe and "cool" pastime, and games like BW became very popular. Furthermore, the fact that for years BW ran on old PCs comfortably meant that it was much more accessible in countries with lower median incomes, and thus fewer people were buying the next shiny console/PC upgrade and therefore videogame. So, Brood War has a pretty strong foothold in Latin America, which simply does not exist to the same extent in the USA. I think it is safe to say that there are more Latino BW players than there are non-Latino in the American timezones.
That all being said, I want to thank Cruiser for his work I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are very appreciative of having events like this one, which serve to bridge the gap between the two communities.

Watched the series vs Snow but I think ASL really picked up the pace and so I fell behind.
Still meaning to watch the VODs on your channel soon (it's really illuminating to see the pros really push their advantages hard -- really appreciate you asking them to play at "ASL levels" rather than have them mess around a bit like they might be inclined to in a ladder game), but maybe for the next iteration of show matches, timing things to be in between ASL seasons might motivate people a little bit more?

Which data are talking about though? Since there is the Afreeca live stream live/ vod English and spanish channel And the youtube live stream on Starcasttv english and spanish (which is later), no?

Cant wait for more. Thanks for this amaizing content!

YEah the hours for me were really terrible so i was not able to catch it live. But I always saw the vods afterwards.
Thanks a lot for organizing something like this and I hope there will be next edition in the future.
Really glad that foreigners were able to get at least one kill
Maybe giving foreigners a map pick would be a good idea for a small handicap for them. Cheers!

This was a lot of fun to watch!
Snow vs Dewalt was an incredible game. I'm not surprised that Snow said he was the hardest opponent.

Mostly because we watch VODS

on top of the time of the broadcast being middle of the night in Europe, a lot of us are also old now, with kids and/or work and cant watch live.
I watch ASL and BSL but almost always on VODs depending on when I have time. I will be watching those too

I watched everything at latest a few days after the stream on Afreeca. It was a pleasure to watch, thanks a lot for the event(s)! I'd be happy to have more of those!
