What's the best mouse to use for Starcraft? I got a Logitech G5 Laser and it moves kind of different from my old Microsoft Optical it seems like. So is optical or laser mouse better?

Also, what's the ideal sensitivity? Right now I play with 1000 dpi but I'm not sure if that's too low or too high (I imagine that ideally you want higher sensitivity)

It's all preferences, play around with it son. I use 1200 DPI on MX518 but it's shit mouse (at least for my tiny hands) so... also don't be afraid to use the search function

For starcraft the best mouses are:
Logitech MX300/G3/G1
Logitech Mini Optical
KTEC mouses

Progamers mostly use the Mini Optical.
Higher sensitivity = better.

DPI doesn't have effect in starcraft because of the low resolution.

I use a Logitech optical mouise (standard) so no additional software, etc....just Windows Mouse settings lol, I play on 4-5..-_-

I use G5 latest edition on 2000dpi in maximum reports per second setting with acceleration off and the second from top in game sensitivity setting.

Could never go back to an "ordinary" mouse, too slow! I might try that 3200 dpi Saitek mouse though.

Expensive mice are less important for RTS's as they are for FPS's. I use a revised G5, and it's just fine, but it's complete overkill for BW.

There's a thread in the CS:S CAL-O forum at www.caleague.com on mouse optimization. Go read it.

Edit: Puoso is wrong. Higher sensitivity is not better. The trick is finding the right ratio of Windows sensitivity, mouse sensitivity (on Logitech, Razer, etc. gaming mice), in game sensitivity, and DPI based on your game's resolution.

I suggest taking of mouse acceleration in the Windows Mouse options. I used MouseFix when I played CS 1.6/Source and it helped. Just find a comfortable sensitivity and stick with it.

theres no difference once u set speed to max, all the game mouse and shit r just made to rip u off. stop buying into their dumb marketing shit. a logitech with more colour and cooler shape = 50$ more. WOW

MX300, G1, G3, but I use Razer DeathAdder nowadays. And I've noticed that it is harder for me to do some things, comparing to G1.

Ther is no best mouse... some ppl likes this mouse some ppl hate it like i hate ball mouses so i use lazer mouse... you can use any mouse to play sc but u just need to get used to it and see which 1 is comfortable to u
