Seeing as how BW AI's have become more commonplace, it could be cool to explore how a human and bot could be combined together to battle against another human+bot. Obviously stuff like maphacks or any other type of game-breaking stuff isn't allowed. The bot only has access to the same stuff you do. That means it can make micro and macro "easier", which I'm assuming would make the player able to focus more on strategic choices.
Off the top of my head in terms of rules I'm guessing you'd be allowed to interface with it through text commands, some kind of gui or maybe even voicecommands? Or you'd teach it to respond to your inputs predictively, or just set up simple rules,... It all depends on how you wanna achieve the "symbiosis".
Because of the different approaches possible I think it could be a whole new type of game/competition with an arms race of "who has the best AI" (and works together with it efficiently/strategically), and it's so much easier to connect with than just a pure independent AI vs AI battle.
Any thoughts? Has this been tried before?
