Game is: me Z @ 2 oclock vs iNc P @ 6 on LT. He opened 1 base shuttle and dropped goons on my high ground and the goons could actually reach my natural hatchery. I was honestly losing my mind. That was the 1st time anyone's ever done that b.o against me, it was such a memorable game that i still remember the builds so clearly to this day. Here's the good part tho, as he's killing my nat hatch he says: "This is boring, I'm gonna go play with Leg instead" and leaves the game. First time i met him and he had me laughing. He actually got to follow his passion and make a living through doing what he loved doing best. That's such an amazing achievement. It takes so much hard work, drive and dedication to reach that point.. i have so much respect for him.

user-edit: i was in shock and worded this badly. my apologies. what i meant was that i had a lot of respect for incontrol and that i wouldn't have insulted him if i'd known it was him. maybe that sounds ridiculous because after all why should it matter who you're talking to? but nevertheless i suppose incidents of nerd rage can happen at what seems like high stakes. this was a wcg game and fairly long / close but ended in a frustrating way with a bunch of ultra drops--which i didn't like (including losing). my intent was to say that i was a poor sport and shouldn't have bm'd him. anyway, my condolences of course for this misunderstanding and i hope you'll think better of me in the future. His influence definitely helped me look at life a lot more positively. Following all EG members since broodwar(in that Phoenix house) and saw how each they individually took off during SC2 era was an inspiring story and I learned a ton from watching iNcontroL, not just in gaming, but also in life. I want to wish his love ones all the best and hope that he Rests in Peace.

Incontrol was always around with his jokes, his opinions or his warmth on some stream/event/show when I started with SC2, didn't hear much by/about him since I switched to BW, but if i took another glimpse at SC2-events he'd be around, in person or in reference, somehow. Really feels like some big part of the community broke off yesterday.

More recently I remember him from the showmatch of Larva against the Chinese player where Incontrol talked about player honour and how Larva was the opposite of how a good mannererd GM player was supposed to behave. It was impressionable to me.

Still I never hated or even disliked him. It was few days ago when I had a bad hangover day and went to fully rewatch 20 year anniversary stream and had ton of laugh hearing him. No one can fullfill your absence Geoff. StarCraft will be never same without you... May you watch your favorite game from heaven peacefully from now on. Terrible to lose such a veteran on such a young age.

I also didnt agree with everything he has done or said, but no one can ever say he wasnt passionate about Starcraft and he did so much for BroodWar, so I am really sad. Rest in piece ToT)Incontrol(

I fought him in ZvZ. I learned lots from him! His vs T was sick. He'd get a ton of hydras, then smash with ultras.

I played with this idiot for 7? 8? 9? years. My own relationship with him was from when people first told me about this good zerg player that I had to play. So I went into his channel and conquered his clan and as he was their leader he was next on the agenda. He went from rival, to fan, to friend, to sometimes an enemy, to friend, to afk facebook status friend over the last decade. A lot of Starcraft memories with him. He had a strong personality. He'd butt heads with many people. Don't worry about flame wars or your last words with the man, he enjoyed that sort of thing. He was on a debate team after all. I played with the guy for years and that's just who he is. It's part of what made him fun to be around, even if he was a frustrating meathead I'll say this because it might be helpful to anyone grieving. Whenever I lose people in life unexpectedly one of the things I find that helps is to think of the best qualities of that person and see if you can incorporate some of their own character strengths into yourself. That way part of them can live on forever. It's especially helpful for those who die too soon, because in a way you can carry some of their light into the future and help part of their spirit live on. You can take your own examples but having met the guy at WCG's Incontrol could be bold but could also temper his reading of the room to not make his customary jokes if he didn't feel it right. Or, that he was active and engaging and wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Actually, I'm not sure if that second last sentence is true about controlling his temperament. He pretended to be an ultralisk in a hotel room in Seattle while everyone was drinking and charged at a bunch of people knocking them over onto the beds and any other furniture that was in the room. Like a true ultralisk, he knocked multiple people over when he charged. He was a pretty burly guy after all. Overall people could tell what kind of man he was because he was social, friendly, and willing to extend a hand to people. RIP Geoff, you stupid, stupid bastard. It was fun growing up with you in Starcraft. It's a big, unexpected loss.

He was a great entertainer, a great caster and he did a lot for this game and believed in what he did. I enjoyed his humor and light hearted banter. I feel respect for the loyality he had. My condolences to his family and friends. Farewell Geoff “Incontrol“ Robinson.

In the end he is still a person with people who love and care about him. He made enemies but that all aside is small in the grand scheme of life. I would let go of my hate in a heart beat if that meant he would still be here to butt heads with us. Cheers to a guy we loved to hate.

Link to vid for those who are interested: (Who is Artosis) Having not followed sc2, I wasn't really too familiar with incontrol's antics, but after watching a couple clips, I really wish I could have seen of his personality! His brashness and humor are right up my alley. Say it straight and cut deep :D incontrol making day9 fall over laughing: MFK
