Can no longer run SC after new patch?

Anyone else having the same problems after the update?

1) Icon for Remastered no longer launches Blizzard Desktop app
2) Have to use Blizzard Desktop app icon to launch it
3) When you click on SCR on the side the big blue button says "Playing Now" and next to it says "Game is running" (when it is not)
4) Close blizzard app, try to uninstall remastered through remove programs, but it says the game is running or being used by Battle.net (even though both are not running)
5) Tried to uninstall/install blizzard desktop app again, but it doesn't help

try alt+ctrl+del and close any programs related to starcraft or restart your pc if that doesn't work. Sometimes there are processes left running in the background.

Can you run it via starcraft.exe in the strcraft folder?

This was the fix for me, except even after restart, inexplicably I had a dead hanging BW process in my task manager. Once killed, it worked fine.

Actually just had the same problem. Had to close it in task manager.

Same here, had to launch the blizzard launcher and when it says "the game is already running" go to your task manager and end starcraft.exe. Then you can click PLAY and it's working.
