I got interested in this idea as with the advent of Autoreplays a lot of us have kept large amounts of replays consisting of the entirety of our gameplaying time, and the files already provide their creation dates so you can look into how much time you spent at certain points of life playing BW.
I am looking for a tool that can calculate cumulative replay duration, so load a certain selection of replays or a folder of them and tell me the cumulative time value of it.
example: a 15min replay, 20min rep and 5 min rep the tool should show 40min total duration for replays selected.
I believe this to be possible as game duration is already information displayed in tools like BWChart and BWRepinfo, so presumably readable from the .rep file, but I don't see a function with either of these tools to add it up.
I searched through the forums and couldn't find a topic on this yet, also the links for Lord Martin's Replay Browser and AdvBrowser in this topic are dead, so unaware if these tools provide that function and the liquipedia tools page does not include descriptions/links for them.
I was wondering if there is already a tool out there that can do this, or if not how difficult it would be to code one, I have no programming background.

BWChart can do this:

note the Players tab at the left menue

Edit so much edit:
Thanks Gecko and JXN.
Another question: BWChart seems to crash often when I load larger quantities of replays, does anyone know at what number of reps this occurs, or how to circumvent this?
|
average game duration x games played = total game duration.
|
In my experience 1000 reps is a good amount and doesn't take too long to load. I think it mostly crashes when you unfocus BWChart during the loading of the replays, so you should avoid that.
|
There's no real number for the reps. Could be it processes up to 10k, could be it crashes after five. Depends on the replays and if they're corrupted or not.
|
I have been trying to sort out any replays it lists as corrupted, but it seems like with some folders it just finds every single replay corrupted, is this also related to patch date in any manner?
