There are two types in Korea. 1. Basic training -> go to the army 2. Basic training -> work as 'gong ik' officer. gong ik officer does not go to the army because when they get their physical tested, it was decided as low level (as in, can't perform properly in the army) this includes if the person had an accident and totally ruined their calf muscle, has terrible eye sight, some serious other issues and etc. As a gong ik officer, you get to work from home.. but you can't do any public works. Thats why so many korean male celebs try to go as Gong ik officer with puny reasons. | ||
