The first stage of free agency negotiations has concluded. Hyun, Go.go, Jaedong, and Midas are the four players purusing free agency and a possible move to a new team. Further information regarding the four players purusing free agency will appear in the next five to six days.
Refer to this thread for information on the entire process.

GGPlay to retire from progaming
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14435&page=1

Due to worsening carpal tunnel syndrome, GGPlay has decided to retire. He said "I decided to retire a few days ago, but now that I've made the announcement official, it's starting to hit me: 'I'm retired.' My wrist was in bad shape, so I had no choice but to retire. It was a form of carpal tunnel syndrome, and it would have taken 6 months for it to completely heal. I wouldn't have a chance of catching up to the other gamers after that kind of time off. Right now I can handle a single match, but not repeated games or practice."

When asked about his future plans GGPlay said "First I'll take care of my military service, and I'll think about what to do after that. I haven't gotten called up yet, but I've decided to apply."

SKT1 retains everyone except Midas
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98553&db=issue

Bisu, Iloveoov, Canata pen new contracts, while Midas seeks a new team.

Jaedong declares Free Agency!!!
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98552&db=issue&cate=001&page=1&field=&kwrd=
Source: http://osen.freechal.com/news/view.asp?code=G0908200105

According to an unnamed source from OZ (remember this is OZ's version), Jaedong wanted to stay with OZ, but there his parents had some disagreement with the team. The source also revealed that they would offer JD the same contract if he failed to sign with another team.

Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14424

According to Jaedong's mother, Mrs. Kim Myung-Ae: "Alongside being unable to come to terms on pay, I just couldn't bear to see him to see him taking on the load (of the team) alone." In addition: "During the FA period, Jaedong himself wanted to stay on his team. But it was really hard as a parent to always have to see him so tired and overworked for the last year and a half."

Jaedong, born on January 9th, 1990, is not yet 20 years of age. According to the FA regulations, he requires the permission of his parents to sign a contract.

Mrs. Kim also said "We're very thankful to coach Cho for making Jaedong the best player. But I still want to see him play in a better environement."

Source: http://news.naver.com/sports/index.nhn?category=e_sports&ctg=news&mod=read&office_id=144&article_id=0000100672&date=20090820&page=1
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14423

OZ is said to have offered Jaedong 140,000,000 won in base salary, with bonuses up to 60,000,000 won. Jaedong's mother is said to have requested a base salary in the region of of 180,000,000 won and/or triple his previous salary.

CJ re-sign Savior, Iris and Much
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98551&db=issue

Much's new contract with CJ does not interfere with his application to Air Force Ace, which is still his goal.

STX Soul re-sign Calm for big money. Hwasin, Kal, and July also re-signed.
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14409

As a player who was previous under the 50,000,000 won cap, it was expected that Calm would receive quite a bit of attention. STX retained him at a much improved salary of about 130,000,000 won a year (with various bonuses etc included). This could rise to 150,000,000 won if he earns maximum bonuses for league victories.

Kal and Hwasin are said to have re-signed for total salaries in the region of 100,000,000 won, while JulyZerg has also re-signed for an unknown sum.

KT re-signs all its free agents with the exception of Shine
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14419

No detailed information about KT is available from the above article, simply that Shine has had a hard time finding playing time.

Wemade FOX re-sign Nada and Mind
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14418

Wemade FOX finished up negotiations before the beginning of Blizzcon. While specific figures were not revealed, it is said that Nada took a pay cut, and Mind received a pay raise according to their recent performances. I'm pretty sure this article is wrong, and that Mind also took a pay reduction. I'm fairly certain he was making more than 60,000,000 won already. Can someone confirm?

Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98550&db=issue

Fomos reports that Nada has re-signed for a salary of 110,000,000 won, with a maximum of 30,000,000 in bonuses. Mind re-signed for 60,000,000 won, with bonuses possibly reaching 100,000,000 won.

Hite Sparkyz re-sign Yarnc, Go.go seeks a new team
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14417

No specific details are mentioned.

Samsung Khan retains all its free agents
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98546&db=issue

No further information, but protoss player TT is said to be seeking retirement.

Woongjin re-sign Free, GGPlay retires due to wrist injury
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98548&db=issue

Coach Lee stated: "Both players are determined to end their careers at Woongjin and did not declare free agency. And so, we head into preparation for the 09-10 season.

MBCGame re-sign Sea and Light as their team's top earners, Hyun looks elsewhere
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98543&db=issue
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14404

As a note, MBCGame declared they would be fully disclosing the salaries of players involved in free agency period. Salaries for re-signed players are as follows:

Sea: 75,000,000 won (Down from 80,000,000 won last season).
Light: 70,000,000 won
Pusan: 45,000,000 won (down from 77,000,000 won)
Saint: 30,000,000 won

Hyun refused an offer of 20,000,000 won (down from 24,000,000) to seek better opportunities. All of the players can earn a variety of bonuses for performances.

Estro keeps their free agents
Source: http://www.dailyesports.com/news/view.daily?idx=14403
Source: http://www.fomos.kr/board/board.php?mode=read&keyno=98541&db=issue

Magic, SangHo, Tester all agreed to new contracts with Estro. According to sources, Tester was re-signed rather easily due to the team offering him a satisfactory contract due to his important dual position as a coach and player. However, upmagic and sangho are said to have been much more difficult to sign. Both players were underneath the 50,000,000 won cap, available for other teams to sign without any repayment fees. A few teams supposedly contacted these two players before the official negotiation period (frowned upon by Kespa, but they have no specific penalties against it as of yet). Negotiations were not settled until Thursday morning, right before upmagic's WCG qualifying match.

That's huge for Calm and STX.
Kal and Hwasin has a good salary too.
STX seems ready for the next season!

Kind of sad to hear about Shine's problem, but not unexpected when they signed up ForGG right after Shine along with other KT players stepping up.

Not really sure what team needs a decent Terran, there are so many of them.

You mean "re-sign", right? Cause "resign" means they gave up, as in retired or something. I was confused at first. ;o

Yes, he has a lower salary than what he had a couple of years ago.
I read and I might be wrong, but is CJ really looking at Bisu?

Thanks.
Hm... I read that CJ seems interested in Bisu too but I don't want to make some misunderstanding. Just we have to wait and see!

Holy hell, if Bisu moved to CJ, that would be crazy. Though I'm personally not much of a Bisu fan, it would make CJ even more of a wrecking crew.

Thanks for the translations so far, and I hope to see more information. :D

Yeah me too but honnestly for a moment he really did results... hard to keep him in CJ.
But we can say same for NaDa, he didn't do well recently... Excpect his MSL and OSL achievements before, if we check recent results : 2nd place @ Blizzcon, 2nd place @ e-stars Seoul .... but in MSL and OSL he didn't do well... TT

I can't be sure without transparent salaries for every player, but looks like the big story of the FA period so far is "how the hell are Kal and Hwasin getting so overpaid?"
