[Q] High MMR, Low Show Rating

When the game first game out, I was very high on the ladder consistently (top 5). I stopped playing for quite awhile at about 1300 Diamond when that was pretty damn high. Now, I honestly only have time for 1-2 games a day. My problem is, everybody I am ranked against is 2k+, generally top 5. When I win, I gain about 30 and when I lose it is about -14 even though they are way higher rank then me? I usually win one, lose two because I am so rusty even with my high apm, but this causes me to go nowhere on the ladder. How do I get stuck out of this dumb rut or do I just need to wait for the ladder to reset?

Just keep playing and it will even out eventually? I find it hard to believe also that scores around 2k atm are top 5 in a division anyways. If you're rusty, and are losing, how the hell do you expect to move up on the ladder? Seems like a dumb question to me. Obviously as you keep playing your MMR will adjust accordingly.

lose a ton in a row and bring your mmr down then work your way back up

I am expecting my rank to show my skill level. It's just frustrating for somebody who cannot play all the time to wait for the system to balance me out but it will take so long. Just an issue I have with the ladder then.

basically, ur high inactivity has caused u to accumulate a high amount of bonus pool points. these count towards ur mmr, but not for ur shown ranking. and these bonus pool points are the only thing that is actually preventing u from losing shown points despite winning only 33% of the time. but this "burning of bonus pool" will eventually reduce ur mmr far enough so that u get matched against opponents of equal skill.

but if you are really a top 5 player then whats the problem? You shouldnt really be losing any games to 95% of all the players on NA if you are really that good. Therefore winning 19 out of 20 games will very quickly get you back up to where you belong

Do what I've been doing.

Just leave as soon as the games start and say fuck it, because nobody should give a shit about your league or MMR.

Now I'm just pooping on kids right and left for every ladder match and you know what? Aside from my digestive system being a lot more healthy than before and curing me from my lifelong constipation from having a broom shoved up my ass for all these years of playing starcraft, I'm actually having some fucking fun.

If I wanted to play against assholes who care a lot about their rating and league, I'd go play custom games because all of those faggots are afraid of hurting said rating and league standing.

tl;dr: Disregard rating and league, acquire tournament wins.

tl;drtl;dr: Ladder for fun, not to increase dick size.
