The computer ATLAS onboard the ships detects a strain of potential potency within the human form. He does say that this latent evolution exists in less than 1% of the sum total.
I will return here, later but first will explore the Xel'Naga race and reveal something inexplicable.

Once again I remind you, forgive me for the vague claim in the former article. What I said was that I will not link any of the official writings I discerned my conclussions from. For one, I do not want the reader to digress to another source loosing focus of that at hand. And the hope to 'reinforce' my claim with other external material would diminish it.

The Xel'Naga
The Xel'naga set out to create the protoss. The protoss were abandoned by them as a failure because of the rise of the 'ego'. Communal progression was somehow overcome with personal gain. The Xel'naga left them and the Aeon of Strife errupted. A global civil war of unrestrained brutality as the entire protoss race turned on each other. The overmind once said "Let their overweening pride be their downfall". First of all let us consider first the Tal'derim. Another sect of fanatical protoss which obstruct Raynor in SC II. I once wrote a light article stating Protoss are the embodiment of spirituality. Thus their actions are governed by superstitious incentive. Although said with half a heart there may have been a grain of truth to that. Second we consider the Dark templar. Now AFTER the Aeon of Strife there was a protoss, whose name they cannot recall but refer to as 'Khas' who discovered the Kayhadirin crystal, that released the energy or rather awoke the protoss to the very energy that linked and united them. They realized they had not lost there link only 'forgotten' it. However there was a dissident sect ( The Dark Templar ) who refused to conform to the new reunion fearing their individual ego would be lost amongst the union. They were eventually banished from Aiur and forced to draw their psychic power from the dark cold void of space. However prior to that the official 'Adun' who the Concalve sent to deal with the Dark Templar, in turn spared them. The Conclave discovered Adun did not follow their instructions and brought about the exhile of the Templar and swore Adun to secrecy.
Here we find a glaring discrepancy. The protoss revere Adun in their speech. 'En Taro Adun'. Where as it was the enigmatic 'Khas' who united them after their dissolution. However more importantly is the concept of Pride, which seems to be their only weakness. The rise of the ego actually means the protoss were becoming, a conscious independant race. The desertion of the Xel'Naga, would've been nothing more than a blow to their pride, thus invoking their rage. The Tal'darim although they seem to be a sub-sequent invention are geared by 'fantatical belief'. Not so much conscious evil but their spiritual pride instilled by their contrary belief. The protoss being so sinless and noble yet so wise and powerful, actually give no impression of having any personal freedom.
Personal freedom means individual discernment. Abandoned by their creators it is enough to say, if the protoss NOW oppose the grand scheme of the Xel'Naga now, the latter must regret not terminating their existence, neglecting that THEY may grow to challenge them. But we here now see, that the rise of the ego is the key reason for abandoning them. It has utterly nothing to do with idealistic mysticism where the crucixion of the ego is the prerequisite for perfection. It means the Protoss, were being created for a reason to carry out certain plans and be a constituent mechanism contrived by the Xel'Naga. In the entire Starcraft history there is as far as I can tell not one Protoss who strays or betrays any party or companion. Aldaris departs from Zeratul and company in Brood wars yet still based on logical reason. The overmind said that the protoss where given the purity of form. While the zerg were given the purity of essence. But in this protoss form, by the very definitive existence of the self, the formation of the self leaves the seed of the ego. The ego is self-awareness. What I seek to convey is that the protoss are instilled with this spiritual seed of fanatical zeal, as they take to the battlefield without the fear of death. The Protoss were created in hope to fulfil a specific mission. To be a race that would embark on the journey that the Overmind undertook, to move from planet to planet exterminating and consuming all life upon the surface. A race that seeks to rule the world, would rather have a subordinate race, performing the work of the former.

Samir Duran.
Samir Duran first appears in the Brood War Terran campaign as a ghost commanding a contingent of the confederate resistance forces. In the secret mission prior to the final level of the Zerg Omega, where you play as zeratul exploring this moon, you see that Duran still commands a substantial group of Terran forces. However in this mission he reveals himself to be neither Zerg nor Terran and something far greater than imagined. Duran speaks of zeratul as a young prodigal. A failed creation and says the creature within the Statis Cell, the zerg and protoss hybrid was preordained since the "stars were young". Yet it is clear that this specific speciman was engineered by deliberate genetic experiment. The hybrid he says has already been planted on other planets and will surface. Though this is pieced together in SC II we forget to question a perplexing anomoly of inordinate mystery.

Kerrigan. Confederacy. The Overmind
How is it that Samir Duran came to be the most trusted consort of Kerrigan? More so, how clever and devious to infiltrate that which remains of the confederate resistance forces, pre-emptively knowing such an agent amongst the UED would sabotage their mission? It is difficult to place favour upon a single character. For one Alexi Stukov orchestrated the use of the Psi Disruptor, yet the prophecy depicts Kerrigan as the key character who must save the universe. Once again I remind you, I am dechipering the Starcraft storyline yet later will indicate WHY certain character depictions hold so much relevance under the light of our present day and age. In fact, there are many incidents in Starcraft which are seperate from each other yet when analysed alone, paint a large brush stroke of archetypal precedence. We need not even worry about the chronology and precedence of things in the light of their singular significance. In any case, we return to Duran.
It is impossible that Kerrigan did not personally oversee his infestation and assimilation into the swarm. It is inconceivable that she would recruit an agent unaware of his affiliation with the confederacy. She directly expresses her surprise during the Omega briefing that 'duran has disappeared'. Duran in the secret protoss mission, even implies that Kerrigan has a degree of freewill and discernment. 'Kerrigan's little mind could not contrive such a great scheme' something along those lines. As radical and disturbing as this is, it means that Duran must've been in human form, withstanding the infestation process and enlisting himself amongst the ranks of kerrigan. But after all that maintaining his free-will. We wonder how he commands a substantial group of confederate forces, and it is interesting to note that on the installation mission of the first Terran episode. Raynor discovers a group of zerglings trapped in a prison cell. And mengsk remarks he had seen Zerg himself over a year ago, revealing that the confederacy have known about the Zerg for along time. What is even more thought provoking is that the UED actually managed to sedate the overmind and control it, with 'potent neural stimulation drugs'. That human technology could circumvent the zerg is something of veritable merit. I have already once mentioned that the zerg are attuned to the psychic emanations of a ghost. Mengsk used the psi emittor to lure them to the planet Tarsonis. The emittor broadcasts the same neural imprint of a ghost except at 'a much greater magnitude', reaching across worlds. However it must be, literally the overmind himself who receives this call. Or are we saying that a large swarm of zerg would deviate from the will of the overmind and travel to the source of the signal?

It is revealed in SC II that the overmind was a creature instilled with a purpose irresistable to assimilate and consume. Somehow his creation of kerrigan, would bring about events that would change the course of events. It may soon become clear why this is so. However it is also clear that Kerrigan underwent a deliberate process. Her incubation within the chrysalis must've been a long contrived transition into the swarm, where within psyionic potential was synthesized into a 'human' form of intensified glorification. By the very 'essence' innate within the swarm, which is that astounding ability to drive the path of evolution, the overmind created Kerrigan. When she decides to infiltrate the science vessel in mission 5 the Overmind says her free will should be an example to the swarm.

The Xel'Naga Ghost
It is said the zerg are drawn to the psychic emanations of a ghost and it is curious to note that once Kerrigan had been captured the zerg make egress from the Koprulu sector and return to char. In some sense de facto this confirms that the overmind answered the call of the psi emittor. The overmind and Kerrigan are both clearly instilled with some intoxicating power that drives them to consume. Was the overmind so drawn to the Psi emittor because The Ghost appealed to him as a being that could be synthesized into a 'Kerrigan?'. Or is a ghost a mere testament to a being so powerful with innate potential insatiable unto his desire and greed?
We have already seen that Blizzard have modified there stories slightly to favour transition into following chapters. To cite an example the Diablo II mannual emphatically states the eventual Wanderer was no one more than a calm brooding Diablo I mere 'warrior'. Not an african sorcerer or delectable rogue but some warrior amongst many other heroes who came to tristram. But in Diablo III apparently the Kings elder son Aiden killed Diablo and imbedded the soulstone into his flesh. In truth there is no distinctive reason why this transference occurred. But it would make more sense for Adria to say, she slept with the "Kings elder Son" than "I slept with that 'unknown warrior' ".
Whatever the case may be this does leave a void of speculation when it comes to supposition unto the methods and cause of the Xel'Naga. It is intersting to note the relics and vestiges of the past lend suggestion to the fact, the Xel'Naga pre-emptively defined the Dark Templar. The existance of the temple and that contrary OTHER crystal which emitted their energy (The Dark Templar). Remember the difference between the Protoss and the Dark Templar. The Dark templar did not submit because they were afraid of losing their individual self-possession. Forced to draw their energies from the void of space, thus forging their power from nature herself. I have already demonstrated the somewhat overt 'single-minded' nature of the protoss, and their inability to stray from their sinless deliberation. Meaning they could well have proven strong candidates able to endure the Journey embarked by the Overmind. Recall, the overmind apparently destroyed the Xel'Naga. With it's growing awareness it managed to 'severe' or block the psychic link, concealing its intentions then it drove the zerg swarm into a frenzy which consumed their ships hovering above the planet. Was this really the end of the race? What IS this hybrid which seems to be a fusion of Zerg and Protoss.

Why would the Xel'Naga consciously engineer the protoss race which appear to be a mere division of their duel nature, then failing to culminate their efforts move on to create the zerg, which were just the inverse of the former division? It is conveyed in SC II that the Xel'Naga seem to be 'The hybrid'. But Duran, speaking from a position that differentiates himself from the hybrid says this creature is planted on many other planets. With all that that has transpired pending The Heart of the Swarm it is inconceivable to think that the Xel'Naga were truly destroyed when the Zerg overmind launched his attack on their ships. We have considered Duran, having infiltrated in human form the zerg swarm, with power transcending Kerrigan herself, in the sense he absorbed the process while concealing his nature. The zerg race, seem to have served their purpose while the protoss survived, who inadvertently have progressed to hinder the great scheme of the Xel'Naga. The zergs purpose, being a race that expanded across the universe consuming all life and sentient data. But now we return to the innate psyionic power that resides within the potential of man. The only conclussion I can draw from this, is that this 'hybrid' is a relatively late alteration in the story, which would now lay claim to the title of the 'Xel'Naga' race. Or the hybrid is just another tool synthesized for total world domination and the Xel'Naga race were in fact human.
