I just angered my Prom date and she told me to go Prom alone.
The story is that last night I chatted with her while doing the term paper for Critical Analysis class. She had her yahoo messenger id in invisible mode. She was telling me that she was sad and crying. At that moment, my mom was around. Apparently, my mom doesn't like me chatting especially with girls so I ignored her messages while my mom was there. Then she asked me I was supposed to soothe her because she was sad. My mom was still around so any messages with the content related to her would draw her attention. I chose to lie and told her because I was doing the term paper and sleepy, I didn't noticed her messages. Then she told me that I was just like anyone else, I didn't care for her. Then I tried to apologize. And It was late at night so I thought she had been asleep. I put up a my yahoo messenger status "no date for me, going prom alone" because I thought she wouldn't go to Prom with me anymore. Then she messaged me asking if I put that up on purpose and told me that she wouldn't go with me anymore, then she told me good night.
Look like I just screwed up everything. Just hope it won't affect the friendship  (.
How foolish me!

When I read, 'no date for me, going prom alone', I read that in the context that you would rather go alone. This doesn't sound like an irreparable situation by any means. Can you not just call her and talk it over? Perhaps drive over and talk it out? You give up far too easily imo if you haven't at least tried this.

who cares if your mom is around. if you care about the girl and she is upset help her. your mom should understand if someone is upset and you're helping them. ffs you're going to prom how can a mother care if you talk to girls...

It's pretty clear that you want to go and I know she wants to go by default. Say whatever you need to say to go together and bring her a gift (even something really inexpensive / simple ) just to seal the deal. Prom is one of those 'forever to remember' things so make it good...for yourself if no one else.
Who knows, if you play it right you may get to blow your load in her throat before the night is over. Just some devil's advocate incentive.

I don't have her number and I am still high school student (no driving) so no ways I can talk to her now. Well, I am pretty shy to ask any girls to go with me, she was the one asked me if I want to go to Prom with her, maybe because she knew that I was too shy to ask.
About my mom, I think she just wanted me to concentrate in studying and nothing else.

Right, but most parents I would assume have moved out of the 19th century by now. The internet is a method of communicating information, nothing more, though I suppose it has profane uses. Chatting is not the same as downloading porn (which isn't bad anyway either - different discussion I guess), or soliciting sex from minors, or harassing people etc.
Parenting is always the answer - not preventing your children from using an input device for sending English characters to a device that interprets them and the sends them across a network for another person to read.

how can anyone feel sorry for this guy, you sir are a blundering buffoon, how in the fuck does it not cross your mind that someone who is crying and telling you about it is not going to become more distraught when you ignore them.
and as an added bonus you changed your status to: " no date for me, going prom alone" on the same night Wow.
Going out of your way to destroy someone's self esteem and enjoy said someone's suffering is one thing, but this.. this is unbelievable, what is wrong with you?
