The limerick's structure somewhat

lol, I wrote this when I was 10 (we had some writer come in to our Year 6 class and teach us about limericks), from memory:

There once was a pig from New York
Who liked to go for a walk
He walked through the city
But oh what a pity
He ended up as Roast Pork

Steve's got game though. Good thread despite the pathetic attempts some people have made, haha.

For our last day of poetry class, we get loads of coffee and snacks and food (yay for snack day at college!). But the catch is, I have to have a couple of heroic couplets that I present to class. I'm terrible at poetry. Like, I really can't grasp iambic pantemeter for shit.

iamb = thingy with 2 syllables, first is short, second is long. For example, any two syllable word where the accent's on the second syllable ("above"), or two words where the emphasis goes on the second word ("da fuck?").

pentameter = 5 thingies per line

iambic pentameter = 5 short/long syllable pairs per line

Writing in it is hard as hell. Limericks are way easier. :p

"Just don't stride the choke" he'd been told
But still crossed the line
Got impaled by a spine
OMFG lurkerhold

A Terran just couldn't get hard
His girl thought (both horny and smart):
Since mobile detection
Gives him an erection
I'll just cite the science vessel's part

There once was a toss called Taek-Yong
Who thought he was fighting ZergBong
Teched straight dt-sair
Got owned by ensnare
Oh snap, the guy was Lee Jae-Dong

Got all-in'd by a P using T
He failed, but his "main race'd rape" me
The joke is on you
I was off-racing, too
Whilst I ate, drank, jerked off and made tea
