Who the heck is the [Wo]man inside the every terran building? When you click on any terran building, there's some freak half-[Wo]man, half-robot with tubes connected to his/her/its head and gears spinning around him/her/it (it's the animated portrait under "menu").
WHO IS [Wo]MAN (ROBOT?? [BOTH??])??
Oh wait... when you click on a zerg building you see a big eye. I'm guessing that's the Zerg overmind. And that controls all the Zerg (at least in vanilla).
So that thing must control the Terran.
WHAT THE FUCK IS IT???
Hmmm helper robot... but is it ever mentioned in the story like the zerg/terran portrait which is used when you click on buildings?

that man inside the turret was epic and i thought the command center "man" was a woman
|
You can see a man in the turret?
And the robot, yeah I thought it was a girl.
|
I always thought it was a bald girl too.
|
ya seirously. i think ghosts were supposed to be cyborgish, but why would the command guy be like, almost mechanical? if they have cyborgs, there should be cyborgish units. think about that one for sc2.

it's definately a girl.. both in features but it also makes sense given the voice for zerg is the Overmind (pictured with buildings) Artanis for protoss (might be wrong name, but he is pictured with the protoss buildings) and the voice for terran is female.. coincides with the picture and the other races.
Not a big deal, no idea how you didn't notice that. Man in the turret is amazing because he is only pictured in the wireframe and kinda in the animation.
FALSE ALARM FOLKS! HE'S JUST AN IDIOT!

It's supposed to represent a helper robot, much like the role "computer" plays in star trek. And yes, it's a female robot, hence the feminine voice you hear: "not enough minerals" etc

My new theory is that its the thing which controls the terran, which is you... so all you guys saying its a girl... MUST ALSO BE GIRLS!
I always knew you were a bitch incontrol, and this proves it!
(not serious [but yeah, I'm really serious])
(Why am I in love with these ()[]??)

Aldaris, not Artanis. Aldaris is the old arrogant regarded fucker, Artanis is the young, hopeful, badass guy.

ah ok ty I didn't think that was right..
I loved the story for SC Great single player imo.
|
Looks better than the one they currently have for SC2
|
If you've played the single player campaigns as Terran, you'd know that it's just your computer aide who fills you in on the situation before every mission.
|
Regarding the Zerg eye thing: If you read some of the SC novels you find out what those eyes really are. They aren't the overmind, if I recall correctly, they're sentries placed around the underground structures of Zerg bases that have really high pitched squeals to alert other Zergs whenever they see something. I'm pretty sure there was one in Liberty's Crusade.
|
I've also always wondered what the fuck that thing is. A helper robot of some variety seems the most likely explanation I guess.

Yes. I cant believe how many people here either have never played the single player, or havnt played it in many years. The cyborg is the one that gives you orders in the first campaign.

The Protoss we see when we click on a Nexus is Aldaris.
Edit : Oh didn't saw the post that already said that.

It's called the adjutant play the effing single player. It does the briefings just like the Overmind or the Judicator. In case you were wondering what the eye or the skull dude were as well.

wait, theres a man in the turret? Where?

I've never noticed before '-__-
