So when I heard about Diablo 3, I kind of got interested in playing the first 2. The only other blizzard games I've played besides Broodwar was War3, so I decided to buy Diablo 1 individually for 5 dollars, and the Battle chest for 29.99 with free Amazon shipping.
Main point is I bought it early on like the day they announced Diablo 3. I went on Amazon, and found the Diablo battle chest NEW for 29.99. It also included free shipping, so I was like what the heck.
I also bought Diablo 1 thinking the chest didn't have the 1st one, but when I realized it did today. I went on Amazon, and checked on Diablo Battle chest. I noticed not only was it $5 more expensive almost 20%, but it was sold out.
Diablo 1 stand alone is ALSO more expensive. I bought it for $7 with shipping, and now I can't find it on Amazon for less than like 15 dollars new with out shipping.
So I'm thinking did all the Diablo 3 hype make that happened? My friend says it's simple supply, and Demand.
I ,however, think that people are just trying to make more money off people seeing as they are gonna be desperate to play Diablo to get ready for Diablo 3.
Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this.

fuck now i cant decide if i wanna play d3 or sc2....i might have to buy both

Assuming a lot of people made the same decision as you, to get a copy of the original two, it makes sense. Although I would think that they would predict that and increase production, although that might have spoiled it somehow?

I'd get super good at SC, quit for D2... Come back shitty, start over. I kept doing that until I ultimately could care less about my skill level in either game. Meh...
I actually think I shouldn't buy d3, but I know for a fact all my friends will be playing it.

Idk, they must still print some, since it still sells. I doubt they would just print an assload at the start and store them all. Edit: But I could be wrong.

i noticed my local walmart was carrying the battle chest for $40, but that was before the announcement.

I just bought the CD keys online and downloaded the games
10 bucks for d2+LoD ^^

I bought diablo for 5 euros when I saw it at some store by pure coincidence years ago. Can't believe some stores are trying to sell it for 15 now.

All i know is when i went to buy d2 and lod, i found the games online for 19.99 d2 and 9.99 lod. I thought i'd buy it, so i had my friend log on to his laptop to buy it for me, but when he went on the site, lod was at 19.99 ... Sure enough, I refresh my page and i see the number jump from 9.99 to 19.99. was pretty funny considering the gap was about 10 minutes at most.
there's no way im paying 40 bux for such an old game (not even taking into account taxes or shipping etc), considering i don't even need the boxes, cd's or manuals, just the cdkeys.

What is funny is that Fry's Electronics and other stores like Best Buy, etc had a HUGE restock on Diablo games. It's like Blizzard predicted that a lot of people will want to play Diablo 2 again so they shipped some more copies of the Diablo games.
