So yesterday, I decided to sign up to play on iCCup. I've never played on it before, and well, the last time I played BW with any serious intentions was probably during season three or four of PGT. So yeah, it's been quite a well.

I started off rather well, for me anyways--I went 2-0 right off the bat. I think I'm now 3-6, but hey--at least I've won some, too.

I've noticed one big thing about my gameplay that's made me rather pleased: I no longer play like a robot. The people I used to play with from BlizzForums (including a handful of WCG finalists from Canada) nicknamed me the "brain dead toss," because I was just that; I played too much a robot.

Unfortunately, I learned BW from a mechanical, rigid, and structured point of view. I never learned why certain strategies worked, or why players did them; I just copied build orders and hoped for the best. I didn't learn from trial and error, or from experience, and that's why I was never better than a mediocre P player with 180 APM.

But now, I don't have a build for anything after about 12 supply or so. I find myself actually thinking during games, and actually using information to make decisions. I think it's great. I'm not exactly some gosu, but at least I think I'm in a position to improve significantly before SC2 comes out.

I'm still offering a cookie for whoever figures out my smurf.

I will after I get through the next couple of weeks. I have a lot of tests coming up, and with DotA being about one hour per game, and BW being about 15 minutes per game, obviously BW is easier to hop on and play during my spare time. :D

I though it was quite mean how people treated you, but you always took it rather well. :D

Who? The BF people? Well, they had their reasons. They were some of the better players in Canada for their respective races at the time I came along, and instead of playing games, watching my losses, and learning from my mistakes, I just asked what the mistake was, and not why it was a mistake. So, I never learned, and they got frustrated with me.

Christ, I was playing with Freak, Prodigy, and Hob. I should have been fucking amazing.

Thanks for the compliment. :D
